The scenarios that can lead to an Ibrox title clincher

SPL Celtic news

Rangers must win their next three matches to ensure that the March 25 visit from Celtic isn’t a title clincher.

With Neil Lennon’s side extending their winning run to 15 matches by demolishing Hibs 5-0 at Easter Road not many bookies will be expecting Dunfermline, Motherwell or Aberdeen to take any points off the league leaders.

Rangers face a tougher schedule of matches away to Inverness Caley Thistle and Dundee United either side of a home match with Hearts – three clubs that they owe money oo.

Ally McCoist’s side haven’t won three consecutive SPL matches since the beginning of December when they beat Dunfermline and Inverness at home either side of a 2-0 win away to Hibs.

If Rangers can win their next three matches then there is no way that Celtic can clinch the title at Ibrox, if McCoist’s side drop any points then the derby match could turn out to be the clincher causing serious concerns for the police and football authorities.

By Saturday evening the chances of such a scenario should be fairly clear once Celtic have hosted Dunfermline and Motherwell.

Full points for the home side will see Rangers take on Inverness 23 points behind Celtic.

Should both teams win all three matches then Celtic will go to Ibrox 17 points ahead of Rangers with eight games left to play.

A hoops win would extend that lead to 20 points with 21 points still to be played for- including the return fixture at Celtic Park.

After their trip to Ibrox Celtic host St Johnstone before travelling to Kilmarnock in the final fixtures before the split.

We better prepare ourselves for some honest mistakes.
Either team that is struggling might find themselves victim of an honest mistake to avoid the scenario of an Ibrox title win.
Even the refs won’t influence the results if we play like yesterday.

There is no place better to celebrate a title win than your own home ground…60,000 fans rather than 8-10,000. Rangers are now no more than an irrelevance, certainly not to be regarded as our greatest rivals so winning at Piebox is no bigger deal than winning at Tynecastle or Easter Road, Pittodrie or East End Park.

As regards the Police possibly taking action to prevent such a scenario….would the cancel a possible cup final if both clubs were represented…of course not. So put an end to yet more garbage scaremongering from the gutter press.
Besides which Rangers fans would hitting the exits long before the Hibs punters did at the weekend anyway.

Let the courts & then the SFA / SPL and our board deal with Rangers FC. Our sole focus should be on the excellent performances of OUR team. The players & Management should be the highlight of the season, to recover after a near disasterous start to now be in our current position (Even allowing for the additional 10 point deduction which wasn’t our fault) We should be rightly proud of OUR achievements and not denigrate them in any way with the self inflicted problems of those down Govan way.

Administration has had no effect on the outcome of this year’s title race….Celtic are way out front due to playing BETTER football in all areas of the park, having better players and better management. I have said many a time, get it right OFF the park then we can get it right ON the park. Rangers are clearly a shambles OFF the park and similarly Sally is doing exactly that to his team ON the park having buckled under the pressure Celtic put them under long before the Administrators came on the scene.

Thought some see them as a mere irrelevance they on the other hand…..
Will see us as an enemy and a threat to them!
Their anger and hatred amplified by the recent goings on will be focussed on all things Celtic on the 25th wether s title decider or not!

Keep safe everyone and keep an eye on oor lennys back .

We did have a chance to win the league at snake mountain under Martin oneill. I can’t remember if it was rearranged or it was to be rearranged should the possibility arise. The police and sfa insisted that there would be too much trouble as it happened before when the manky mob won the league at parkhead – Hugh Dallas got struck by a coin & there was ‘riots’ after the game.
