Celtic newsTwo goal Charlie Mulgrew led the players praise of the Celtic support after today’s 6-0 win at Kilmarnock tied up the SPL title for Neil Lennon’s side.

In October Mulgrew was sinner turned saint as he headed the equalising goal in a 3-3 draw that salvaged Celtic’s season.

The former Aberdeen defender didn’t mess about today, scoring twice in the first half either side of setting up Glenn Loovens for goal number two as Celtic raced into a 4-0 interval lead.

“It was great,” the Hoops defender smiled after the final whistle. “Credit has to go to the full team for the way we started, it was high tempo and we were lucky to get the goal and we pushed on from there.

“The crowd were magnificent again. I know I have said it so many times but they genuinely were the 12th man today, the way they sang and it filtered onto the pitch.”

Anthony Stokes scored twice at Kilmarnock in October and saluted the backing of the fans in the title triumph, he tweeted: “Appreciate all the congratulations msgs, fans wer outstanding 2 day as yous have been all year! Thanks for everything!what a way to win it!!

Joe Ledley remained a little low key with: “GLASGOW CELTIC CHAMPIONS!!

Similarly two goal Gary Hooper tweeted: “Party time.. CELTIC CHAMPIONS”

Captain Scott Brown added: “Our fans have been unbelievable, they’ve followed us everywhere. They’ve packed out the stadium and made it like our home.”
