Ally McCoist Celtic newsAlly McCoist has admitted that dumping Rangers into the Third Division could be the correct punishment for the Ibrox side.

Rangers have lodged an appeal against a 12 month transfer ban from the SFA but the current Ibrox boss has suggested that a stronger punishment may be more appropriate!

Next week the SPL will vote on whether or not to accept a newco into the top flight as the reality of Rangers almost certain liquidation is freely discussed.

The full charge sheet for Rangers, which could include undeclared payments to players dating back to 1999, has still to be produced by McCoist admits that Third Division football could be one option.

“There’s an argument the right thing to do is for Rangers to go down to the Third Division and that might be the case if it’s a newco after liquidation,” admitted the former Question of Sport favourite.

“It might be the right thing to do morally and people will have their own opinions on it, with differences far and varied.

“But is it the correct thing to do for Scottish football? Probably not. Everybody’s got a dilemma and that’s why there are so many opinions on it.

“Whether people like it or not, Rangers and Celtic are different because of the size and magnitude of the two clubs.

“Supporters of other clubs and some Old Firm supporters say you can’t have rules for some clubs and not for others.

“In an ideal world, that would be 100 per cent correct. I would absolutely and totally agree with that.

“But the fact of the matter is we’re asking if it would be good for the rest of the SPL if Rangers went down to the Third Division? The answer has to be no.

“I don’t envy the people who have to make that decision. I can understand the hypocrisy of it but Rangers and Celtic are different.”

Rangers have been boosted for Sunday’s game against Celtic with the news that Kirk Broadfoot could be available again after injury.

Is Comical Sally trying to say it would be GOOD for Scottish Football to completely ignore the cheating that has gone on for the previous decade plus…because it’s Rangers ??

Rules are rules and Business is business….you cannot BUY integrity….take your medicine and be thankful.

So wait, the 12 month ban would kill us, but a heavier punishment should be given? Does this guy have anterograde amnesia? You know, where he can’t remember what was said two minutes ago?

“Oh yes, morally we should have the book thrown at us because we know we’ve shafted everyone, and everybody else knows it. It’s great to have morals, and morals are all well and good, but let’s see how well you’d get on with us relegated to the very bottom of the ladder. You simply cannot be allowed to do it, because we are the Rrrrrangers (we’ll even say Celtic should be allowed cos that way it doesn’t look like we’re just serving ourselves and also we want to lump the fenians in with us to try and alienate them from the rest of Scottish football – make out that we’re as bad as each other. Oh aye…and just ’cause”.

Intimidation through pleading eyes. Dagger with a smile.

These people do not know humility, and they clearly don’t believe in apologising. Still waiting to hear one, not even to Scottish football, but to their own fans. None of them have apologised for what they’ve done to their own fans. If they can’t say sorry to them then what chances are there for everyone else.
