Ally McCoist transfer newsAlly McCoist believes that the next three days are critical if Rangers are to avoid liquidation.

Despite Duff and Phelps confirming yesterday that no acceptable offers have been tabled the Ibrox boss remains optimistic of a buy out.

“There is plenty to worry about if you wanted to but there is no way we can do that,” McCoist stated. “We have to be positive and optimistic.

“I spoke to Paul (Murray) again last night and I spoke to Brian Kennedy yesterday and when you have got guys like that, who do have the club’s best interests at heart, then we have definitely got a chance.

“We are all aware of the pitfalls that could be around the corner but it won’t help with me showing negativity.

“It’s a massive 48-72 hours for us. It really is massive for the football club. I’m just hopeful we can get through it.

“I’m really hopeful that would be the case. These next 48-72 hours are absolutely vital for the club.

“I haven’t spoken to anybody from Duff and Phelps today but I will speak to them tonight or tomorrow for an update. I remain very hopeful, as one has to.”

What the hell does he mean? Murray and Kennedy-are they going to find another 15 million in the next three days? Are they going to make an unconditional bid knowing that the club might be booted out of the SPL as they don’t meet until the 30th? Or are the powers that be doing backroom deals with Rangers new owners as we speak?

If deals are being done it will be the biggest mistake in Scottish football history as thousands will never set foot in a ground again. They may save Rangers but the rest of it will be dead. (Maybe that is what they want).

If a new club is formed and is allowed to go straight into the SPL how many supporters will continue to pay money to entertain this farce?

Seems to me there’s a great deal of panic about nothing. Although the big tax case isn’t over as yet. There is no way Ragers won’t have further tax due on top of the already admitted £15 million they owe there is no way the tax mans going to walk away till after the funeral of Ragers.

Think about this what bank would allow a Ragers newco banking facilities when they could go out of business at any time and straight back into the top flight Scottish football. I mean Lloyds couldn’t get shot of Ragers quick enough.

So relax and let’s enjoy the death of Scotland’s most bigoted institution.
