SFA football newsRaith Rovers director Eric Drysdale has spoken out about the reaction to the SFA’s transfer ban on Rangers.

The identity of the three man panel that took the decision leaked out on the internet yesterday causing security alarms for the SFA and police.

An explanation for the transfer ban and £160,000 fine is expected shortly from the SFA but after being unveiled Drysdale was happy to go on record to explain his role.

The chartered banker told the Daily Record: “It was unfortunate Ally McCoist chose to speak out in the way he did yesterday and cause this furore for people who have given up their time voluntarily to assist in the administration of Scottish football.

“But while I found that disappointing, I also understand feelings are running high. If it was my club then I would understand the emotions.

“I genuinely believe when the statement of reasons is published obviously Rangers can and no doubt will appeal.

“That’s the process and I have no difficulty with that whatsoever. But I would like to make it clear I have no axe to grind against Rangers, Celtic or any football club. I’m a Raith Rovers supporter and I have been all my life.”

Last night the SFA issued a statement expressing their concerns after the identity of the panel was revealed.

It read: ““We are deeply concerned that the safety and security of Judicial Panel members appointed to a recent Tribunal has been compromised by a wholly irresponsible betrayal of confidential information.

“The Judicial Panel consists of volunteers from across the spectrum of sport and business in Scotland. They are appointed on the basis of anonymity, yet all three panel members have reported intrusion into their lives, including abusive and threatening communication.

“This has been extended to directors of the Scottish FA. It culminated tonight in a visit by police, who are taking seriously the threats made.”

  • Nice one fat ally putting people in danger just because RANGERS broke the rules and got caught to blame them for trying to kill your club you are a disgrace of a man the people to blame are David Murray , Craig whyte (csc) , yourself and the thousands of knuckledraggers who had there heads in the sand when everything was falling all around them. I for one hope your club dies and never comes back hail hail and death to the Huns.

So who leaked their names ? Obviously, someone who doesn’t give a damn about people’s safety. Does he work for the SFA ?

    • JoeG says:

I don’t suppose that the one person on the SFA board with a rangers background would be an obvious suspect would he?

  • Gerry D says:

I thought McCoist would apologise today, he hasnt.

    Thats a massive own goal.

Alex Thomson’s blog today is accurate, succinct and very powerful.

A sad indictment of Scottish society!

What really makes you sick about these scumbags reacting the way they have, is that Scottiosh Football, already in the gutter, has allowed this nonsense to go on for years, happily turning a blind eye to the bias and special favours being granted to rangers. Now, they are being asked to play by the same rules as everyone else, they actually feel they are being singled out! There is high level logic if ever there was!!!

McCoists reaction, “demanding” to know who these people were, was a downright disgrace. This is exactly the same tactics that rangers used, stoking the fire in their so called fans, who are really just bigots, to endanger the lives of Neil Lennon, Paul McBride QC, and the poor 65 year old former FEMALE, MP.

These tactics from the fat man of ibrox, are disgusting, and have resulted in exactly what they anticipated it would. If rangers don’t get the special privileges they were always able to, they would threaten the lives of people who tried to enforce the rules. We all know what is going ti happen here. rangers appeal, the threats for their lives hang over those who made the decisons, and the penalties every other club in the game would have to endure, will be slashed.

It really makes you wonder, just who instigated all those death threats before to our manager, a QC who had the audacity to also be a Celtic fan, and of course, a helpless 65 year old female ex-politician. I don’t think I have to think too hard to come up with the very obvious answer to this one! The responsible club, have instigated terrorism in Scotland yet again, and still, the amazing judicial system in Scotland will favor them, forgive and condone their tactics, and reduce their penalty, stating afterwards that in future, the severe penalties originally “handed down” to rangers would stand for all oither teams, with no right of appeal. This lot are scum. They always have been, they are , and they always will be. The SFA deserve them.

Cheats, that are clearly proud of their corrupt history. ” why punish the club…just punish the men involved!” yeah but you don’t mind bragging about being the most successful club team in the world with your embarrassing 5 stars due to the tainted trophy laden years under Murray. Selective memory’s is it not! I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again….” hurry up and die!!” HH 1NL WATC 😀 ps absolutely love the new home top. 😀

At the end of the day ally got what he wanted.
If you are a panellist and vote against Ragers you’ll be outed on the net. So panellists be warned. Untill this incident yesterday I had a certain sympathy with Ragers.
Now I hope they die nothing more nothing less.

Mccoist could have very easily found out who was on the panel by simply asking and not publicly. All he wanted was a reaction and to claim bias. Rangers VOTED in this policy of an independent panel who would stay anonymous.
