Javier Hernandez Manchester UnitedEfrain Juarez has been dropped by Mexico for three end of season friendlies.

Neil Lennon has already confirmed that he’s looking for the player to move on after his loan spell in La Liga was cut short by Real Zaragoza.

Juarez didn’t make a single appearance for Celtic in the season about to end despite making an impressive start to his hoops career.

Mexico have games arranged against Wales, Bosnia and Brazil as part of their preparations for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Coach Jose Manuel de la Torre has been a big supporter of the 24-year-old but has been forced to leave the Celt out of his World Cup plans.

Last summer Juarez was a key member of the Mexican squad that won the Gold Cup against the USA but it now seems certain that he’ll have to move on to revive his international career.

I still cant shake the feeling that Juarez upset someone- in a non-football way. He didn’t get as many chances as a few others with less talent.

He was the signing who impressed most at the beginning of Lenny’s first full season in charge. I thought he was going to be excellent! I thought we would be flogging him for about 10 million this close season. What happened? Is there really no way he could get a final chance? You don’t become a bad player this quick.

Was there not a story that he and half the Mexican team were caught pissed in a room full of hookers?

  • Raymy says:

Hardly worth completely shutting him out for life tho is it? I mean, I’d like to be pissed in a room full of hookers. Myself tho, no teammates

any room for me raymy?.Havent met a celtic man who didnt rate the man.I would love to see him get a second chance. Why do we tolerate a prick like foster for so long, yet dont give a chance to juarez.?.Even if he was full of the mexican marching powder,I would still keep him.

I feel bad for the guy, and I feel bad for us that he never got to show us his true potential. I hope he gets his career going again, somewhere.

He was drunk in a hotel room filled with quackers & bold Efran was trying to steal a Transvestites Crown…its a modern world…sure Lenny agrees- but I think he lied to him about being there. Denying it initially, probably with a certain amount of persistence; then Lenny no doubt found out the Truth. Not only was he acting the clown, he lied to him. Lenny probably found it very disrespectful & would have been seething- but most importantly believed he couldn’t trust him. Football is a team game & based on mutual trust. I think Jaurez broke that sacrosanct rule in the manager-player book.

Dont think the boozing, prozzies and smoking was much of an issue but I believe there was a few of them taking cocaine. I think this is why he’s been papped oot!

Obviously it never worked out for him in Spain either….you only get one chance and he has blown it big time…no one to blame but himself.

Reminded me a bit of Gravesen ….thought HE was the team. Hope we can get some of our money back.

Juarez looked a good player and I’m sure Lennon went to a lot of trouble to get him. It could well be that he felt let down by a player he had preached to get hold of. Woulx make you look like a dick to the board. Who knows though?
