Henrik Larsson newsHenrik Larsson’s LBoIS stormed into second place in the Superetten on Thursday night thanks to a 1-0 win away to Trelleborg.

Luka Mijaljevic scored the only goal of the match shortly before half-time to give LBoIS their fourth win in five matches.

The points edged LBoIS a point clear of Hamerby and Brommapojkarna  who are both in action over the weekend.

After a slow start to the season where they only picked up seven points from their first five matches LBoIS have struck form to push themselves into the promotion race.

“Our attitude was right today and that’s very pleasing,” Larsson admitted afterwards. “We’re showing a lot of determination and developing a winning habit.

“Trelleborg made it difficult for us but the players were patient, stuck to their plans and held on for the result.

“It’s too early to be thinking about promotion at this stage but we are in good form and in a good position.”

Thursday night’s win was achieved without leading scorer Freddi Olsson with Mijaljevic and Linius Olsson making light of Freddi’s absense.

Larsson added: “Linus and Luka have played together for our u-21’s but this was the first time that they’ve played for the first team. They did well and showed that they can challenge for a regular place.

LBoIS aren’t back in action until next Sunday when they host league leaders Osters at home. Osters have picked up 28 points from their first ten fixtures and look certain to take one of the two automatic promotion places.
