Green denies McCulloch claims

Charles Green newsCharles Green has moved quickly to call a meeting with Rangers players after Lee McCulloch announced this morning that he hadn’t heard a word from the potential owner of the new club.

As soon as the liquidation process began last week Green announced that all contracts would be transferred to the newclub under TUPE regulations.

Fraser Wishart of the SPFA quickly issued a statement saying that players were free to move on as well as insist that their existing contracts are honoured by the newclub.

“We’ve not spoken to anybody,” McCulloch told Sky Sports. “The boys are getting a little bit anxious that way, we’ve not had a phone call.

“I don’t really blame the manager for having his phone off. He’s probably thrown the phone away by now the amount of people trying to get hold of him.

“As far as I’m aware and have been told, any players can walk away. But that’s if they want to walk away.

“But that’s getting challenged. There are people telling us you can and people telling us you can’t so I think we need some clarification on that as well.”

After taking a three month pay cut during administration Rangers players were due to return to full pay this month.

With very little season ticket money and sponsors refusing to back the newclub it’s doubtful that Green will have the funds to pay wages at the end of this month- if any players have agreed to switch to newclub.

A newclub that has no players or has failed to honour contracts is unlikely to be welcomed into the SPL with further question marks remaining over the viability of the club with BDO prepare to take over from Duff and Phelps.

Green’s claim of attracting Scottish investment to his newclub has fallen on deaf ears with next weeks’ meeting with players likely to be lively.

Responding to McCulloch’s comments Green said: “From the moment HMRC announced they wouldn’t support the CVA, we contacted the staff and had a meeting with them and the administrator made them aware.

“We as a newco started having discussions and as far as we are concerned, all the contracts transferred under TUPE.

“Of course, the difficulty is some of the players haven’t been around and the likes of Bocanegra have been away on international duty with the USA team.

“They’ve also been having holidays and taking their families away so it has been more difficult with the playing staff than the non-playing staff.

“We’ve been speaking to the PFA though and to individual agents and as the players come back next week, Alistair and I will be sitting down with them and explaining where we are.”

The more I read the more I get the feeling that Dodo FC will be back at square one with a new round of Administration then Liquidation within a year!

Don’t get me wrong I couldn’t give a toss but it sure makes me laugh as the poor bigots think the worste has passed but this is only the beginning of a long journey for Dodo FC.

I am just impressed at the harmony within the ranks of the corrupt.
As cheats exposed, it was bad enough, but each day you read a little more and as time passes, the fiasco grows beyond understanding! I love it!

“We as a newco started having discussions and as far as we are concerned, all the contracts transferred under TUPE.” Bollocks!

For that to be true, all the players would have to have signed an agreement confirming the transfer. TUPE is there to protect the employee and it’s definitely not designed to aid those who walk away from their bills.

  • McColloch would pipe up first, wouldn’t he, he’s 400 f***in years old.

Just cos hes a dirty no good orange bigot rat b****rd dont mean newco want to keep him! but under tupe! rules they have to!. pity them. there will be more McCullocHs coming out the woodwork haha deserves green right stupid stupid hun im a billionaire haha

McCulloch says he will be there next season- because nobody wants you. Elbows just might get the elbow from Green, stupid stupid hvns.

This just gets more and more amusing!

Charlie has no intention of spending anything more than is needed to keep the show on the road until he can sell up for a nice short term profit.

Under TUPE regulations, all employees have the right to have their contractual terms and conditions transferred to the newco, but they have no obligation to do so. It is their choice.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of newco FC – if they will be playing next season, where they’ll be playing next season, what sanctions will be applied by the soon to be reconvened AT, what sanctions might be applied following the SPL investigation into contract irregularities, what might be the fallout of the BTC findings when eventually announced by HRMC…etc.

Which players in their right mind would allow their contractual obligations to be transferred over to this shambles of a club when they have a get out of jail card?

Just a pity Celtic hadn’t moved ahead years ago when they had the chance.

Time to get id of the deadwood Celtic ( deadwood when most were purchased) and get some decent players.

Typing an ‘exclusive’ article about big Robson, I came across a piece written about Moisty just before he stepped in to replace ‘wattie’ as manager. I think it’s worth a read, so I thought I would post it hear.

    Alistair

‘He matured and developed, listened and learned, and most of all, he began to realise that his fate not as the jovial, grinning quiz show captain, THE SUBJECT OF WISTFUL GLANCES FROM DEAR OLD SUE BARKER (I think at this point the auther takes a second to adjust his holster ;O), but rather in the wood paneled office at the top of the ibrox marble stair case’.

And where did sleekit ‘mature and develope’ and who did he ‘listen and learn’ from? You might well ask.

‘graeme souness and HIS OWN PERSONAL SORCERER, Walter Smith’.

And how successful was this complete and encyclopedic football education at the hands of a footballing ‘sorcerer’?

The writer reliably informs us (and this is a stonker):

‘He has attended to his apprentice(boy)ship a bit more diligently than Neil Lennon’

And just when you think he couldn’t possibly be more sychophantic, he finishes with a flourish and makes a firm claim for the Jabba ‘Succulent Lamb’ award. If you’ve heard the Jabba/Young, who’s heed’s the furthest up watties erchie argument on radio, this one’s a clincher!

‘He’s learned at the hands of a wise old owl’!!

    Ladies and gentlemen, I give you…….(drum roll)….

    CHIC YOUNG

I’m away to scour my keyboad with some strong chemicals now, and to try and rinse out the wee bit of sick I got at the back of my throat!!

I am sure Green will welcome the resigning of McCulloch at his £ 20,000+ a week salary for a players with ZERO re-sale value….NOT

You are more than welcome to him, and any others like him…little wonder the club died due to financial negligence.

  • MaxX says:

As far as I understand it, Green has not put one penny into the ragers, it’s been my understanding from the start that every penny Green’s put into the club has been in the form of a loan.
    Am I wrong?

Bhoys and Ghirls, as I refuse to have anything to do with the ‘Daily Ranger’ newspaper, I read and contribute to the forum on the Herald Scotland website. You should have a read. It is hilarious, as well as serious. From the posts, there are still a few Rangers fans that think they are VICTIMS!!! Unbelievable. Like any news Club, they, if they are granted a licence to play by the SFA, should start where any other mew Club would start.
