Stephen McKenna Celtic fanJohn Brown is backing Celtic-daft Stephen McKenna’s bid to seize control of Rangers!

The legendary Ibrox hardman has been sickened by the state his old club has fallen into under David Murray, Craig Whyte and Charles Green and wants to see McKenna and business partner Allan Stewart/Bulloch take over the assets of the player-less newclub.

Parkhead season-ticket holder McKenna paid £15,000 at a charity dinner in 2008 to play with Celtic’s 1998 title winning side in a benefit match for Phil O’Donnell.

After the game McKenna said: “That was just the best day ever. If I’d known how good it would be, I’d have paid 10 times what I forked out.”

With a complete absence of wealthy Rangers minded businessmen willing to come to the aid of the newclub Brown is backing McKenna to get newclub Rangers back on their feet.

Brown explained: “These investors are willing to take Rangers forward. I am bringing them to the table to talk with Charles Green and see what can be done.

I have watched Walter Smith’s consortium fall by the wayside and I feel strongly we need all Rangers men to rally round the club now.

“Rangers are my life and I will do anything to help it be saved. I would not be putting my hat in the ring if I didn’t think this was a viable option for Rangers.

“Rangers are a fantastic investment in my eyes. The proof of funds is there and it is up to the people in charge to make a decision now.”

“I have been disgusted by the handling of Rangers and it is the fans who have suffered.

“I am a Rangers fan, bottom line, one who was fortunate enough to play for this great club. My parents are in their 70s and they talk about it every day.

“I have been ashamed to see what has been happening in recent years. This club has given me everything and I want to help to give the club back to the fans.”

Stewart/Bulloch is the latest name linked to buying Rangers and follow follows in the footsteps of Graham Duffy, Andrew Ellis, Craig Whyte, Billy Ng, Bill Miller, Paul Murray, Brian Kennedy, Douglas Park and Walter Smith.

Other than Craig Whyte’s disastrous reign only Charles Green has stepped up with the funds required by Duff and Phelps to give the club hope for the future.

Unlike billionaire Whyte who apparently paid to have his google history removed Stewart/Bulloch’s chequered business past was readily available last night.

After the disbelief of Celtic-daft McKenna’s involvement the extent of Stewart/Bulloch’s business history makes eye-popping reading.

Like Whyte Bulloch/Stewart has served a seven year ban from being a company director and has twice been declared bankrupt.

In 1986 alongwith business partner Graham Gracie he was sequestrated owing 55 creditors £165,000.

Four years later he was banned from being a director alongwith his wife Margaret.

The McKenna/Stewart/Bulloch consortium headed by Brown reportedly have £11m available to buy out Green and intend floating the club to supporters in three years time.

Land developers, eh? Before we knew, last night, who McKenna was we ruminated on the possibility of him and the other guy being Celtic fans. We did laugh at Ibrox and others assets being bought by land developers. I mean, unless they are now getting involved in property.

We could only see it as Celtic fans getting the chance to get rid of Ibrox altogether. Perhaps, it’s a chance to run it as a completely non-sectarian club – get rid of the scum, paint the club green, call it St something or other! The possibilities for mischief are endless!

You couldn’t make this stuff up. John Brown’s backing a couple of dodgy sounding, property developing, Celtic supporting business men to take over rangers’ assets. As they say in the movies: “We’re through the looking glass now folks”.

Probably help drive the price up for those true blue investors who are trying to buy the club on the cheap and then cash in high.

I think you’ll find it’s the club that just keeps TAKING m8 ;o)
TAKING honest taxpayers hard earned cash.
TAKING money out of the British health system and the sick and dying.
TAKING titles and trophies from their rightful owners.
And qhite simply TAKING the p1ss and treating Scottish sporting integrity with complete and utter contempt for over a decade!

  • Mharkopolo says:

I just dont understand haha, john brown says he wants rangers surrounded with rangers men, so why is he backing two celtic fans?? the other thing is, im not sure i want any celtic people to be involved in their saga of disgrace.

I want their demise (and their eventual double demise) to be all their own fault, all their own doing. self destruction. it is how its going to end up, it doesnt need anyone from our side to do it for them.

I want celtic to just stand and watch them crumble, what i dont want to know is that people of my club have acted in a similar disgrace as them, after all their whole plan over the last decade was to put us out of business… never know he might just being going in to make a profit, and maybe just to sell murray park and not ibrox, which is what i would do anyway. just let them kill themselves, dont get involved mckenna.
