Green: We've been misled by HMRC

Charles Green newsCharles Green has accused HMRC of misleading Rangers over the prospects of his CVA being accepted.

News emerged today that HMRC were rejecting Green’s proposals forcing the liquidation of the club.

Green had made hopeful noises that his CVA would be accepted by HMRC despite all the evidence suggesting otherwise.

HMRC will now appoint BDO as liquidators with Green’s hopes of a £5.5m asset sale to Green a non-runner as BDO attempt to raise the maximum sum possible from the individual sale of the club assets, mainly Murray Park and Ibrox.

It’s massively disappointing and I think to some extent we have been misled by HMRC,” Green told Rangers tv.

“Duff and Phelps have consistently said to me that they were in dialogue with HMRC and that they hadn’t rejected the CVA route.

“Irrespective of what I was being told by HMRC, my own advisers at Deloitte have been in dialogue with them too.

“To see them today saying this is a ‘policy decision’ leaves me speechless. If that’s the case, is that a policy that was invented this week?

“If not, why weren’t we told that in February or March? We could have gone into a NewCo then and saved a huge amount of money and time.

“It would also have removed the false hope from Rangers fans. There is no possible way that this is better for creditors.

“I’ve read HMRC’s statement which says they’ve chosen this route so that they can pursue former directors.

“I’m not a lawyer but if a former director has done something wrong, he should be pursued. I don’t believe turning down a CVA is a price worth paying to pursue previous directors.”

BOOHOO, i think the baby needs a wee nap.

Real life is just like a movie, the bad guys lose in the end. Who would have thought it would be people representing ‘their’ queen that would hammer the final nails in the coffin. BYE BYE

  • If only I could live in Green’s world. If there is any ‘invention’ it is in his head – the hot air and wood shavings container on the top of his kneck.

Back in February everybody, anybody and anything were trying everything to do all things to keep them things going.

It would have saved money you say. Why? So you and all the everybodies, anybodies and all the buddies could get as much of a thing from everything that was then at that thing that is about to not be a thing for anybody that that thing was for them things.

Oh, and Salmond was trying to hold everything for everything that the institution, the second biggest thing in the country thing, could be avoiding to keep on living till the HMRC thing told him and everything to go and sing cause they were liquidating.

FEBRUARY – you lot kept it going even though we were knowing years agoing that you were too were agoing and there was no escaping HMRC’s LIQUIDATING!

As someone else once said…You cannot be serious” even a half wit KNEW the CVA had no chance whatsoever of being accepted. Any advisors would also know HMRC would not contemplate accepting it either…so yet more hot air / flannel from Clown Green trying to deflect the blame elsewhere.

He knew it was inevtiable that RIA would be liqudated but merely trying to appease the support, talk of Gattuso, 19 targets blah blah…foreign investors, easy to raise millions….all talk and no action.

Today Crook Whyte is STILL the owner, albeit of nothing..but still the owner.

Green & Whyte, how ironic 🙂

  • Raymy says:

Feb or march? Why wasn’t he told? I though he wasn’t there?
Well there we go, a slip. Has he been working behind the scenes with d&p, ergo, whyte, from the start?

What a total shambles. Rutger in blade runner final line.

  • Stevie says:

If only Mr Green had read these Internet bampot types he’d have known the script for months. HMRC and CVAs are clearly defined in her majesty’s tax collectors documents.
    No fraud or avoiding tax.
