SPL Celtic newsCharles Green’s SPL hopes for Servo are effectively dead in the water with THREE more clubs announcing that they’ll be voting no to Servo replacing Rangers.

The SPL will formally vote on the matter on July 4 but with six clubs announcing their opposition to the proposal Green will have to apply to the Scottish Football League if his dream of a newclub emerging from the ashes of Rangers is to be realised.

Inverness Caley Thistle, Aberdeen and St Johnstone all made announcements that they will be voting against Sevco being admitted to the SPL, no SPL club has publically given their backing to the newco proposal.

The Highland club were first to declare their intentions joining Hearts, Dundee United and Hibs in the no camp saying: “Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC has completed their consultation exercise and consideration of its options in relation to the upcoming SPL vote on July 4.

“The club will be voting ‘no’ to an application for SPL entry from a new company which has acquired the assets of Rangers following the liquidation of the previous company.

“Having considered all the options and following a very productive discussion with the supporters trust board, members the ICTFC directors are unanimous in their decision.”

Aberdeen’s Stewart Milne added: “Traditionally we have preferred not to make public our voting intentions, but in light of the level of interest and the fact other clubs have chosen to show their hand, on this occasion I can confirm it is our intention to oppose readmission to the SPL for any Rangers.

Later on St Johnstone stated: “Over the last few weeks there has been a mounting groundswell of opinion amongst our fans which has clearly shown that the vast majority of our supporters would not favour an application by newco Rangers to the SPL. This has simply reaffirmed the Board’s position.

“It is important that a clear and unambiguous message goes out from the custodians of Scottish Football that this sort of scenario should never be allowed to happen again.

“As a result, St Johnstone Football Club will not support an application by newco Rangers to join the SPL.”

Servo needed the backing of 8 out of 12 clubs to be allowed into the SPL.

Earlier today it was announced that a criminal investigation will be carried out into Craig Whyte’s takeover of the club in May 2011.

A statement said: “The Crown Office has today instructed Strathclyde Police to conduct a criminal investigation into the acquisition of Rangers Football Club in May 2011 and the subsequent financial management of the club.”

Not much of a shock seeing as the rest of the SPL want rid of the Old Firm veto and will be coming after Celtic fans’ season ticket money to fill their extremely depleted coffers!!

Sevco will be in the First Division next season, those at the helm in the carpeted corridors of Funny Handshakes will make sure of that… Sevco will suffer because FIFA are watching but they’ll make sure we suffer too!!

  • I fully now expect an 11-1 vote as no club wants the Celtic support to bhoycott them and I’m glad as I love the away games but I for one will never set foot in rugby park again, johnston would have voted for the Huns in a second if he thought thet would get the 8-4 vote make no mistake the Kilmarnock bhoycott should stay in place. Hail hail

I doubt that Dodo FC will be in the 1st division, the lower placed clubs will be up in arms about being snubbed / missing out of possible money.

The way things are going, I think there is every chance they will face a 12 month suspension, if not then they are fast headed for another administration due to lack of funds.

Should be taking down the big sign from Ibrox shortly….that will bring it home to the fans of this new club…the old one is DEAD.

Absolutely correct. i can’t believe that this crook is still the president of the clowns at the SFA. How arrogant is that? Caught with his hands in the cookie jar and STILL won’t resign.

Like dallas before him, his cocky, arrogant approach that he is untouchable is disgraceful, and not being handled by those in power.

They have obviously hoped he would be big enough to step down, saving them the embarrassment of firing him, but he is too arrogant for that.

Fire the clown and save yoursleves some face for goodness sake! He is a cheat!

The biggest crisis to rock Scottish football ever; anger and frustration everywhere with threats of boycotts and further attempts at cheating; SPL club liquidised, clubs cave in to fan pressure and vote no dice to new company cheating their way into the SPL; criminal proceedings and fraud investigations against old rangers f.c and the whole country voicing their anger against the Laural and Hardy of Scottish football and what is the big plan to tackle all of this…Regan goes off on holiday!

GET THESE CLOWNS OUT OF OUR GAME NOW!

The story that never ends. Has more twists than a ride at Alton Towers.

  • Tully says:

If the manky mob had any class or dignity they wouldn’t have applied for entry to the SPL and would have applied for the 3rd division the day they went belly up but that’s not their style.

Now they just look even more stupid by trying to sneak into the big bhoys league but stupid is as stupid does.

  • MaxX says:

If I was a rangers supporter I would have jumped at liquidation and grasped Div 3 with both hands at the first shout.
If that had been done they wouldn’t have had to put up with everyone inspecting their rancid laundry!

  • It’s amazing how David Murray’s name has more or less never been mentioned in the last 12 months, but things will change once they start investigating at HMRC and get their teeth into them. The investigation is already in plac and the big picture will start coming out.

This isn’t just about Scottish football, this is about Scottish bigotory, from exRFC,SFA,SPL,Referees, newspapers,Scottish government (past and present).Orange walks in Glasgow ( Do you know their are more orange walks in Glasgow than there is in Belfast and Derry combined?)

A horrible bigoted little country that I left for the same reasons.Pity really ‘cos there is a majority of decent people in the country that don’t have those values and this is now being identified with fans across Scotland voting “NO” to the Rearangers into the SPL.Don’t let the minority bigots ruin the counrty further.

Salmon, where are you now? Who would have thought that people of Scots/Irish background would have thought of not voting for independence for Scotland from the UK.That’s what happens when you show your hand as being a suited bigot.it turns out that the Rearangers and their core are a minority in their own country.

    Bye Bye Rearangers,Good bye bigotry.
