Charles Green newsCharles Green has promised not to walk away from Rangers even though the SPL have shown a red card to his Servo bid.

Six clubs have gone public announcing that they will vote against Green’s attempt to transfer the SPL share held by Rangers to his newclub.

With four players so far refusing to transfer to newclub and various other probes including a criminal enquiry into David Murray’s sale to Craig Whyte last year the former Sheffield United chief hasn’t had his worries to seek.

Rumours that Sevco could be close to administration and out of football for 12 months haven’t deterred Green as he seeks to find a way forward for his newclub.

“I’m obviously disappointed but we have to deal with the cards we have been dealt,” he told Sky Sports.

“It’s unfortunate people have come out and made these comments when my understanding was that there was going to be a vote next Wednesday, but I can’t control other clubs.

“The consortium realised that if we went down the newco route it was a risk. It doesn’t alter their resolve.

“Those guys invested knowing these were obstacles that were outside their control and the resolve is there to see this job finished.

“I said at Murray Park on the 13th of May that my job will be finished when we have got financial security, when the debts are paid, when it’s floated on the stock market and the fans have got the right and the opportunity to buy shares. And nothing has changed since the 13th of May.”

With the SPL door firmly closed Green’s only option now is to submit a request to the Scottish Football League for a place.

That’s something we have got to work on over the next few days,” he added. “First thing we have got to get membership of the SFA and then start speaking to the football league.”

  • It really is a joke. £5.5m. I know guys that have invested more on a dug at Wm Hill’s on a weekend. For the monstrosity that was for sale, that kind of money was no more than bus-fare expenses. Financially Charlie, you are aptly named. Pity you wont have a long running series. Would have been up there with the best – sit-coms, I mean.

    Patience PB, patience!
We’re only on the trailers now, we’ve still to get the messages from the sponsors and the main feature to go!

Confirmed; no HUNS in the SPL.

What would be really interesting now is if Spartans and another non league team, who have all the corect credentials, apply for what is now clearly a vacancy within the league.

  • justshatered Says:

I hope it is Spartans after the treatment they got from our revered rulers. A registration wrongly completed, horror of horrors, and the fitting punishment, expulsion. Equally applied to the current wrongs would mean that there would be a distinct shortage of planks and all the sharks in the sea would have been well fed for a long time now.

Not walking away? That sounds familiar, oh yeah that’s what they all say usually just before they walk away.

IF they get into division 3 then surely that’ll mean Scotland is the only European country that has a club with 50,000 fans at every home game (hahahaha) it’ll be interesting to see what kind of crowds they’ll get.

“Not walking away” no they’ll crawl & start kicking & screaming when they hit the 3rd division with no top team players left & how the whole worlds against them again!!!
