Ally McCoist Rangers newsAlly McCoist faces another anxious 48 hours before finding out what sort of squad he’ll have for pre-season training.

The floodgates out of Ibrox have been opened by the announcements to quit from Steven Whittaker and Steven Naismith with half a dozen more expected to leave.

Confrontational Sevco owner Charlie Green met with Fraser Wishart yesterday but was unable to come to any agreement over the TUPE legislation that allows players the right to refuse a transfer to newco.

Maurice Edu, Kyle Lafferty Kirk Broadfoot all have offers to go to Turkey while Steve Davis and Allan McGregor are more likely to move to England.

With the door to the SPL slammed shut with six clubs going public on their opposition to Sevco the departure of high earners such as Davis, McGregor and Whittaker could work out to Sevco’s advantage.

Thursday promises to be D-Day in terms of contracts with players due to be paid and McCoist starting pre-season training.

With Green unable to announce any of the backers for his consortium and failing to deliver on virtually every promise the SPFA will be monitoring the situation closely.

Those players willing to be transferred over are due their full wages after taking three month cuts in a bid to help the club last season.

Any failure to pay full wages would add to Green’s problems and bring closer scrutiny to his regime as they attempt to find a way back into football with the Scottish Football League.

The SFL season starts on July 28 with the Ramsdens Cup with the leagues beginning on August 11.

Time is very much against sevco 5088, no signed accounts,All senior players leaving for FA and don’t know where and IF they will be playing next season, awaiting to find out what punishment they will get for ETB double contracts, Strathclyde police investegating White’s involvement, Dumb & Dumber under investagation. More revelations still to come out.

Wee sally should stay as he might win somethin with ra peepil in the 3rd division(like manager of the month)..He can hone his managerial skills over the coming years in preparation for -‘theres not a team like the glasgow r*****s’- return to the big league and hopefully secure a ‘top six’ finish 1rst time back? or maybe even a european qualification spot?? 3rd 2nd & 1rst div titles can then be added to their illustrious history…OH NO!! Let’s have a punt for McGregor. He’s class. I don’t care if he played for the club formerly known as Rangers. We need a quality keeper…
