Cash crisis fears grow at Sevco

Charles Green newsFears are growing that Sevco are already facing a cash crisis less than a month after splashing out £5.5m on the assets of Rangers.

According to a report in the Daily Record just 250 season tickets have been sold bringing in £100,000 to Charles Green’s consortium.

Since Green took charge of the assets his consortium have been hit with a number of problems with former Ibrox heroes Walter Smith and John Brown both mounting take over bids.

Brown has urged fans not to buy season tickets in order to starve Green out of Ibrox and has challenged the Yorkshireman to show the title deeds in order to confirm his ownership.

Ten first team players have walked out on the club denying Green the chance to recoup transfer fees with uncertainty over the future of Carlos Bocanegra, Maurice Edu and Dorin Goian.

With no European football or even the SPL to look forward to it’s expected that the international trio will join the exodus.

Sevco won’t find out till next Friday what division- if any- of the SFL they will be playing in with supporters unwilling to comit to Green without knowing what level the club will play at and what Green’s plans are.

While the SFA attempt to push the SFL into creating a First Division place for Sevco the clubs’ fans want to see the new look club start off in Division Three.

Taking on board the principle of sporting integrity and supporter consultation Andy Kerr of the Rangers Supporters Assembly wants to see the club in the bottom tier of the SFL before fans splash out on discounted tickets.

He told the Record: “Our view is crystal clear. We will not have notions of ‘integrity’ thrown back at us in future. We believe Rangers should be in the Third Division.

“But in this new environment, where chairmen are suddenly listening to their fans, Green and Malcolm Murray should do the same and listen to the 80 per cent of Rangers fans who wish to go to Division Three.

“If they listen, then I can foresee a time when fans’ organisations will advise their members to renew season tickets, but at a lower rate to reflect the Third Division status.

“And once that particular lever is pulled, then we will advise as many fans as possible to renew.”

Is it just me that is getting annoyed by all of this.

Rangers are no more, they cease to exist. Sevco is a new company and as such have to apply for SFL status, this means showing 3 years audited accounts.

All of this scaremongering and ballyhoo about getting into the first division is all just about getting them into the 3rd without following the correct protocol.

Let them do to this new company the same as happened to Gretna. Joing the West of Scotland league and wait for a place to be available in the SFL, then if all your books are in order you can apply for the position.

Ragers are dead. It’s time that the “leaders” of the SFA, SPL, and SFL gave up their demented attempts at CPR.

Sevco are only just clinging on to life. And they could still be in line for some real punishment from HMRC. But the morons at the SFA, etc, are so intent on clinging on to dead ragers they are going to let Sevco die too.

The leaders of our governing bodies are so incompetent they can’t even cheat properly. Frightening.

Excellent point mate… reminds me of the politicians expenses scandal… even when creating the rule book, administering the system, auditing themselves and finding a way to scam the system… they still end up getting caught!

How can you trust somebody who can’t even learn how to cheat properly when they feckin’ designed the game?

Leaders of Sport?… They couldn’t lead a dog on a feckin’ leash!

Green doesn’t need to actually have a football team or to finance one. He could quite easily make the millions he seeks by selling memorabilia over the next 10 years and running tours through Castle Greyskull to the Peeple.

He can sell off the training ground and cover the outlay of £5.5million and then the Carparks and the remaining players which would see the first £4-£5million in profits. He could continue to sell shirts with their 5 stars and all those wee trinkets without the outlay of expensive players etc.

He could even let the stadium out to someone else wanting to start a new team and who would like to play there but he would keep all the intelectual rights to the brand and name of Rangers FC.

This has to worth consideration by Mr Green, “I’m Confident” he will listen.

How many times was Lennie sent to the stand with the words: ”the rules are quite clear Mr Lennon etc, etc.,” Now when it suits the Masonic trio of Raygun, Dungcaster and Longpants the rules suddenly don’t seem to matter.

Therein lies the problem with Scottish football one set of rules for 39 of the clubs and another set of rules for the Poodle of Scottish Football Sevco (rangers) f.c. They simply have no right to be playing in ANY division at all…THAT’S THE RULES.

They took away my glorious 12th next week. But on the bright side when the orc’s wake up with a hangover the next day it really will be a scary friday the 13th.

  • Williebhoy says:

    Hmmm…. 250 season tickets @ £ 400 = £ 100,000

But this is based on SPL Prices

More accurate would be a 3rd Division rating of circa £ 150 which would give them £ 37,500 – Let’s TRY and show some semblance of accuracy DR

As much as it boils my blood the treatment that scum are getting. Dont panic as it doesnt matter what league they end up in sevco or whatever the filth call themselves will be in adminidtration by christmas and ill tell you why, we follow our bhoys through thick and thin, they couldnt spell loyalty, the animals wont follow a team that cant win, they never have its not in there nature, they are glory hunters, any reincarnation will fail. They are dead, it doesnt matter how much the rules are bent, mark my words, attendences will level out at no more than 15 k in the 1st division and will be pathetic if the 3rd. Tesco superstore within 3 years hahaha

    • Chicago Typewriter says:

      @Sands1888,

I was wondering the same thing; would Newco Rangers be viable at all at this point in the long term?

If Rangers people were unwilling to invest when it looked like they would be bumped up into the SPL, why would anyone invest time, money, and energy in them now?

  • daviebhoymcdeee says:

    Shit happens!!!
They have £3.5 million for running costs like, electricity, gas, water, catering, policing, player wages, staff wages etc.
That money wont last very long, perhaps 4 months at the most,so December time and they’ll be on the whore for investment.
Any money brought in from season ticket sales will be going on running costs. There is a very real possibility that they will end up in administration again this season.
    Time will tell

  • you quote the story as saying..”leaving Green no chance of recouping the transfer fees” I make two points SEVCO Rangers paid no fees,,the Contracts belonged to the now liquidated RFC…and they didn’t pay the transfer fees either, having reneged in some cases on their debts to the clubs that sold the contracts in the first place…Hearts etc.
