Morton chairman accuses Doncaster and Regan

|

Neil Doncaster SPL newsMorton chairman Douglas Rae has slaughtered the performance of Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster at last week’s SFL meeting.

The highly paid SPL and SFA executive’s painted a picture of doom and gloom to the 30 SFL clubs warning of the dire consequences for the sport if they failed to create a First Division spot for Sevco who have yet to be given membership of the SFA or produce audited accounts.

Twenty-four hours later Doncaster’s SPL clubs rejected a plea from Sevco to take over the place vacated by Rangers.

The Morton chief also repeated the claim that Regan told the SFL clubs that the SFA would prevent Sevco from joining the SPL even if the clubs voted them in.

Regan issued a denial of that claim shortly after last Tuesday’s meeting but with a mixture of mistrust and contempt for the CE of the SFA Friday’s Sevco vote now looks likely to go against Regan’s wishes.

The SFL clubs will meet again on Friday to decide if Sevco can be admitted to the Third Division after which the SFL board are then hoping to catapult the newly formed club into the First Division in return for a ‘deal’ with the SPL.

Unlike their SPL counterparts most SFL directors are of the old school who want to retain a football tradition in their town with Rae disgusted by the attitude and approach of Doncaster and Regan at last weeks five hour meeting.

In a letter sent to his fellow SFL clubs the Cappielow chief said: “Scottish Football League clubs are being placed in an intolerable position by the SFA and the overwhelming decision by the SPL to refuse to admit newco Rangers into the Premier League.

“I was very disappointed indeed with the input of the two visiting officials at the SFL meeting, which lasted some five hours. The visitors were Stewart Regan, chief executive of the SFA and Neil Doncaster, chief executive of the SPL.

“Neil Doncaster was a man who didn’t appreciate that the current problem relative to newco Rangers, and which league they should be playing in next season, is exclusively the problem of the SPL and little do to with the SFL.

“Neil was totally unable to get his clubs to accept the decision going forward that he wanted. Following that mammoth failure, Neil now expects the SFL clubs to bail him out, which would mean SFL clubs ignoring the views of their supporters.

“Never have I known supporters to be more single-minded than how they feel over this newco Rangers drama. Quite frankly, Neil Doncaster seemed to many to be a man who had lost his way and unable to get back on the right road.

“The SPL CEO made scant contribution other than trying to impress clubs that if we did not vote newco Rangers into the SFL Division One, financial disaster of epic proportions would be the experience many clubs would suffer.

Stewart Regan Celtic news“His forecast was that up to six SPL clubs could go ‘bust’ if the SFL clubs did not follow his advice to back newco Rangers.”

Turning his attention to the head of the SFA Rae added: “The most concerning point about Regan’s presentation was he departed truth as he became increasingly desperate to get his viewpoints accepted.

“When asked what would have happened if SPL clubs had voted newco Rangers entry to the Premier League, he stated that the SFA would block it.

“I asked why that point had not been made known to the clubs prior to the meeting. Stewart stated that sometimes points are withheld until the last moment for greater effect.

“I asked, through the chair, if I could ask Regan to repeat what he had said about ‘blocking’. He responded by repeating what he had said minutes before; namely that the SFA would block any result that would see newco Rangers entering the SPL.

“The following day Stuart countermanded in the press what he had told the SFL meeting the previous day.

“It is very disappointing the SFA chief executive was unable to give a truthful response to SFL chairmen.”

Regan & Doomcaster don’t know what they are talking about – no surprise there !!

Could replace these 2 numpties with a couple of plastic bucket seats and get more sense.

I’m sure the SFL clubs were greatly impressed by 6 SPL clubs going to the wall….immediately thinking of 6 places available at the top table.

Typical scaremongering yet again from these 2 clowns with absolutely no supporting evidence at all. How much benefit to the league is having a club that owes £ 120m+ refuses to pay other clubs / income taxe / insurance and cheats for decades, sounds just like the kind of club to attract major sponsors NOT.

These two guys are worst than clowns they are deliberately misleading the public and the members they represent. They should be both dismissed as they are public figures and have been exposed as such.

  • It’s a major concern to me that Doncaster hasn’t yet faced a No Confidence vote from the SPL club representatives. He clearly has no credibility and he is rightly perceived as an incompetent, shallow dud. His honesty, integrity and sense of honour are all openly questioned by the people he most needs to impress.

So why are the SPL clubs still letting him represent their interests? Is it possible that his ramblings and ravings are really a true reflection of a consensus amongst the SPL clubs? Surely not. And yet, what else can explain the fact that he hasn’t been fired for gross incompetence?

Oddly enough, Regan spoke a good job until the chips were down with the old rangers fiasco.

Now it looks more and more as if he was as corrupt as the rest of them in turning a blind eye to the goings on behind closed doors at ibrox.

It is clear for all to see now how the sfa have been party to corrupt methods down govan way, but if ever they started to look vulnerable it is now that they are being called to task by the lower leagues. What a pity all of this was ever allowed to happen to our game.

These guys have been guilty of feathering their own nests for years and meanwhile the game in Scotland has been flying down the toilet at a rate no-one could explain. But never mind eh? the sfa crooks have been making sure they are okay!

Is it any wonder we are the laughing stock of Europe? If UEFA or FIFA don’t step in and handle these incompetents, the game really is dead in scotland, because come hell or high water, these bufoons are going to make sure rangers oldco will never be allowed to die. One thing i have learned from all of this too is that regardless of all the cheating which has been proven recently, there is no way on earth that regan and his sheep will ever take titles gained through total disregard for the rules will ever be taken away from the cheating scum from govan.

If they at the sfa are trying this hard to make sure the cheats newco are playing in Division one, there is no way they are going to hurt them by exposing the corruption further. We all know this verdict will be, “no case to answer”.

We are getting used to this one where they are concerned!

Tainted titles WILL be taken away from the Cheats f.c make no mistake about that. Where they go after that is anyone’s guess – they should go to the next team that played fair and as supporters and the life’s-blood of the game we need to DEMAND that that is what WILL happen.

In the years gone bye all these double dealings, corruptions and underhand shenanigans would have been conveniently covered up by the Daily Record and the Red Tops in general. Changed days indeed now that we, the supporters have the internet and are wise to their deceits and endless scams.

We now have foreknowledge and as such we are forearmed to demand that sporting integrity. . .YES JIM TRAYNOR. . .’SPORTING INTEGRITY’ is the level playing field that we all play on and no amount of money or secret society deals will take it place in our beautiful game. We now have the power…let’s use it against corruption in favour of the game we love…football.
