Pressure stepped up on Regan for leadership

SFA football newsHamilton Accies have urged the SFA to step in and show some belated leadership ahead of Friday’s SFL vote on Sevco.

Following the botched handling of the Rangers crisis the SPL and SFA want the SFL to vote Sevco into the First Division.

Almost all First Division clubs have voiced their rejection of this course of action despite the threats of doom from Regan and warning of SPL2 from Doncaster.

In midweek Partick Thistle asked the SFA to step in with Hamilton backing that view in a club statement issued today.

Speaking to their fans chairman Les Gray said: “As you all know I attended the SFL meeting earlier this week to discuss the various proposals put to us by the SFA/SFL/SPL.

“We have subsequently had a board meeting to discuss the consequences of each of these scenarios. It is also now apparent that Rangers Newco will not play in the SPL next season.

“As you are aware the proposal being favoured by the governing bodies is that Rangers Newco are parachuted into the Irn Bru SFL Division 1, contrary to Scottish Football League rules.

“If our Governing bodies ever get round to tabling any firm proposal to vote on it is unlikely in our opinion that this proposal, in isolation, would be acceptable to the members.

“We believe that a complete overhaul of the game is required for the good of Scottish Football. League Reconstruction, play- offs, a fairer financial distribution model and a more effective Corporate Governance are some of the major issues which require to be addressed.

“The current circumstances we find ourselves in have created an opportunity for these changes to be implemented.

“We believe the problems facing the game are not of the SFL’s making and as such would strongly suggest that the SFA, our governing body, take immediate ownership of the current situation in tandem with the two League bodies, and table a set of proposals at next week’s meeting providing a solution for the way forward in the best interests of Scottish Football.

“In the meantime the situation changes daily and it is our view that HAFC and the other SFL clubs should not be put in the position to vote on something which may destroy Scottish Football.”

    Well said Hamilton Accies.

The management of the Scottish game should be taken out of the hands of these idiots who are presently incumbent.

Scottish football needs to take time out and consider any and all proposals which may steer our game to a better future.

Henry McLeish was charged with putting forward proposals and maybe these should be used as a starting block on which to build but I am also sure that there are models around Europe and the rest of the world which given time we could analyse and cherry pick the bits form them that would suit our particular circumstances.

This is a time for quiet reflection before we act and not the knee jerk nonsense brought on by the desire to save “an institution” which has been shown to be corrupt.

Those at the top of the SFA, SPL and SFL have been complicit and it is time for them to go, allowing fairer minded people to carry through the wishes of all decent football fans.

If the don’t stand down perhaps this is the time to carry through the next phase of “The Scottish Spring” and have them democratically removed.

All club chairmen should be made aware of our feelings.

It’s obvious they are not in the job because of their brains. They don’t believe in the laws they are supposed to unphold.

They can’t seem to grasp they are dealing with a newly formed club, not the old Rangers FC. They can’t seem to grasp if they treat the newly formed club as if it were the liquidated rangers, then the newly formed club must pay the debts and taxes of the old club.

Once the liquidator sees that Rangers sold their assets off on the cheap in order to avoid using them to pay off their debts, there will be long running Court cases involving this very dubious New Company.

Regan & Doncaster (with Ogilvie in the shadows) are part of the problem that took us here, a problem that involves corruption, bigotry and secret handshakes.

waiting for regan ogilvie to show leadearship regarding glasgow tax dodging cheating rangers is kidding themself on as they are an insitution just like the state hospital

The SFL clubs should simply continue on with the status quo UNTIL the Appelate Tribunal has met & made a final decision..anything else is completely pointless

It’s not just Regan that has to go, the SFA as an organisation must go with him. The whole culture within the SFA has been rotten for a long long time.

We have witnessed little snippets of this culture and type of behaviour in the past but after this it can’t be denied any longer. Our game needs purged of these people, they have called the shots for long enough and their corrupt organisation must be disbanded.

All clubs and their fans must unite to make sure an entirely new governing body is set-up free from these people and their influence.

    Hail Hail.
