Helsingborg newsHelsingborg skipper Par Hansson has branded his side powerless.

The international goalkeeper was speaking after Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Djurgaden- the first time since 2009 that HIF have lost three games in a row.

Despite the 6-1 aggregate win over Slask Warsaw in the third qualifying round of the Champions League Age Hareide’s side will arrive in Glasgow in low spirits.

With the defence of the Swedish title over and done with HIF require an incredible turnaround to salvage their Champions League hopes with Hansson far from confident about his side’s prospects against Celtic.

“We feel very powerless,” Hansson admitted. “We have no energy, Djurgården played well and we just never got started. Our midfield and defending wasn’t right. “

Manager Haride was just as downbeat about his side, he said: “Some times you have to fight like hell to win and we must learn that.

“We have a lot of young players that need to understand that this is a physical game. You must play with your head and your legs and be able to face two games a week.

“At Rosenborg the players were used to this, they were prepared for matches and training and at Helsingborg we must endure more, more training and tougher training.

“We have to put recent results behind us when we face Celtic, if we can get an early goal it can change the tie around.”

The defeat at Djurgarden leaves HIF in fifth place in the table ten points behind leaders Elfsborg who lost 4-2 yesterday away to second placed Hacken.

Nevermind what he says, it’s just mind games. As long as we stick to our own attacking plan then we should be just fine.

Yawn. It was boring when fergie played his mind games, it’s just annoyingly tiresome now that every other manager seems to be doing it. We won’t fall for these old mind games. Surely in modern football, they don’t work anymore? Just get it done Bhoys! Hail hail.

Lennon and the Bhoys know they are very long way from qualifying. They will be ready.
