Gary Hooper is confident that Celtic can avoid to defeat in Helsinki next week to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
The Englishman scored Celtic’s equaliser last night after the Finn’s had taken a 47th minute lead with Charlie Mulgrew sealing Celtic’s victory in the 61st minute.
Another goal would have made the return trip a little more comfortable but Hooper is confident that with another 90 minutes under their belt- at home to Aberdeen on Saturday- Neil Lennon’s side will have enough to negotiate their way past HJK
“Another week will only make us stronger, with the SPL opener against Aberdeen on Saturday,” Hooper explained.
“We’ll have to show bottle there. We’re not going to go there to sit and defend. I think we’re strong enough to see it through.
“It will be a test of nerve but I think we’ve got the quality to see us through. I am confident. We played both halves without taking our chances.
“We lost a sloppy goal, but came back strongly to get two. We’ve just got to make sure we play again like we did tonight and if we manage that I’m sure we’ll be fine.
“For our first competitive game we did well- after they scored we had to step up another level.
“Sami gave me a great ball for my goal, leaving me with just a tap in.If the chances come my way over there then I’ll have a good chance of scoring again.
“I look to score in every game and if the chances come like they did in the first leg then I think we have a good chance.”
