Charles Green news

Charles Green has accused the SFA and SPL of wrongly kicking Rangers out of the SPL.

The Sevco spokesman has refused to participate in Lord Nimmo Smith’s EBT inquiry but has latched onto one of Nimmo Smith’s weekend comments regarding the oldco/newco debate that the SFA have shied away from commenting on.

Having entered into talks to invite Sevco to replace Rangers in the SPL and applied for a transfer of membership through the SFA Green now wants to go back to July and re-instate the newco in the SPL.

Lord Nimmo Smith, chairman of the Commission set up by the SPL, has highlighted an extremely important issue in his recent judgement regarding the Commission,” the Sevco mouthpiece noted.

Lord Nimmo Smith has said that Rangers FC is a recognisable entity which continued in existence notwithstanding the change in ownership.

He also stated that Rangers FC, the club, includes its owner and operator. The Commission has in effect ruled that Rangers and its history did not die on 14 June despite numerous reports to the contrary.

This means that Rangers FC and its owner, i.e. me and my consortium, remained a member of the SPL even after the change of ownership.

The bemusing part is that no-one at the SPL or SFA appeared to realise that. The SPL made the club (including its owner and operator) reapply to be a member of a league that the Commission says it was in already.

If the Commission is right then the change of ownership was frankly irrelevant to SPL status. Nevertheless we duly applied and that application was rejected. ”

Green added: “If the Commission is correct about this recognisable entity then the SPL and SFA must be wrong in making that entity apply to join bodies it was already in.

Maybe they should both appoint Lord Nimmo Smith to form a Commission to investigate and tell them who their member is.

In our view the Commission chaired by Lord Nimmo Smith has been placed in an invidious position by the SPL.

The establishment of the Commission is the most striking example of the chaotic way the fate of Rangers has been handled by the football authorities.

As we stated previously, it is impossible for us as a club to participate in a process we firmly believe is fundamentally misconceived.

We believe that most people would not think it right that a football authority that was willing to horse-trade league titles and cups for league status, should then embark on the course of action it has chosen in setting up a Commission. There is no clearer case of moving the goalposts.”

You were not put out the league for a change of ownership it was the fact that you put that shambles of a club into liquidation and formed a newco but decided to operate as if you were oldco this is we’re you went wrong because if you act like oldco then newco deserves to be punished for oldco mistakes so wait until the tax cases.

I get the feeling that this idiot or genius is trying to run newco out the game so as to sell off any assets and make a nice profit…surely no one can be this stupid????? I would put money on Murray being in his consortium that is why he has not told anyone who is backing him because it would never have been allowed…cheating again?????

This whole saga is detrimental to Scottish football we need to disband the sfa for not dealing with this and we need to reconstruct the leagues and get newco out then start to rebuild our reputation..

Charlie Muppet and his Gob Full of Sh1te. I’m sure that was an unpublished Roald Dahl classic to be

    • Frank McGaaaarvey says:

Classic M8! I’m sure Charlie Muppet’s factory would be producing ‘Chocolate Orange’ by the, erm, factory-load for all the XXXXXXXXXXXL size bears to enjoy.

He will probably dream up some ‘golden-ticket-‘ scheme where a handfull of lucky berrrz gain access to a magical world where little orange Oompah Loompahs produce brown brogues by the thousands on a busy wee production line and lovingly handstitch Union flags with poor grammar and spelling to sell to the loyal masses.

You’ve got me going now. Surely there’s a movie there somewhere. Green-Greenie with his Screamin’ Lord Sutch outfit as Charlie and Big DJ as the oompahs.

  • sands1888 says:

Its all beyond boring now, they are an average 3rd division outfit that are insignificent. We are champions of scotland, champions league stages pedigree, and the most important club team in the world arguably. Let them rot

  • williebhoy says:

Let’s see if Chico still wants to be a part of oldco when the tax man comes calling, not to mention umpteen UEFA CL clubs who will be seeking compensation due to registration cheating 🙂

What is they say about empty vessels. Obviously the SPL / SFA management cannot comment on an ongoing case. Keep mumping yer gums Chico, it’s going to cost you BIG time.

  • Dougie says:

The official liquidation of Oldco has not yet occurred. Neither has the Court received a detailed reply from Duff and Duffer about the conflict of interest situation, as far as I have heard. As Oldco still has to exist until it finally is put to rest, the original company still exists and their state of denial can officially continue. Will someone put the zombies out of their pain and kill them off once and for all?

  • Flamebhoy8 says:

I’m half expecting to pick up the daily Hun tomorrow, to see that crackpot green announce his plans for world domination, I hope he keeps this up, it’s so funny

  • Joe says:

Of course he is correct. They do still exist even if only on paper until their liquidation become final. But have no fear there dufus. Since these are all points you want to bring up, look on the bright side. You will be the proud owner of that club which used to be called rangers as they are liquidated and drift into insolvency and oblivion. Enjoy the ride. You are a great fit for the sevco fans, even if deep down they hate you.

  • Mac says:

And yet more silence from the two spineless little Englanders who head those organisations!

    • neil says:

spot on, what the fek are they doing running scottish football, they must be going home laughing at night, up till late playing cards with green

  • Ciaran says:

The last paragraph, “We believe that most people would not think it right. . . . .”
Let me finish, to deny the public purse millions in unpaid tax?
To deny struggling football clubs money that is rightfully theirs?
To threaten violence every time a decision goes against you?
To claim a club’s history and not their obligations?
Yes Charles, it’s hypocrisy, isn’t it?

  • Neil says:

another thing…if Lennon opens his mouth its all over front center and back pages, Traynor get on his high horse claiming he is a liability.
The SFA charge him with bringing game in to disrepute.
Green on the other hand seems to spout keech everyday and the dumb twins at Hampden dont say a thing, WTF.

  • Shamrock hoops says:

    Chuck Green= comedy gold!!

  • Greenjedi says:

They were greeting that Turnbull Hutton wasn’t charged for his comments.

One wee problem for thos greetin, he was 100% correct and there was nothing anybody could do to say otherwise

  • stubhoy says:

    Two things of note:

    1. Rangers no longer exist as they were liquidated or in liquidation for several hundred years as they cheated the Scottish game and its members and are SKINT….

    2. Is it not stated in the rules that a new club formed from an existing club can have no association by name or any other means if they are to remain unpunished for the old clubs misdemeanors.

Far be it from me to say but SEVCO are SEVCO and are where they are because they are a new club and if the farce that be decide to reinstate them into the SPL then HMRC should get their finger out and so should UEFA and dismantle both the heirachy of the scottis game and the tax dodgers of the other side of glasgow…

    Hail Hail

  • Glen says:

people why are we entertaining this tripe every week
about the rankers,f**k them…forget about them…sick of hearing about them…lets concentrate on the best club in the world…..GLASGOW CELTIC…

    • Jimbo says:

Best club in the world… Barcelona – “more than a club”…

Celtic are up there alright – the social ethos, the history, the success – unlike other Glasgow clubs.

  • Thomas says:

SFA correct to stay silent. Why give him a platform. Why are you so troubled Green?Cant afford the rent?
    Mon The Celts!
