Lassad Nouioui

Lassad Nouioui has been listed by UEFA in Celtic’s Champions League squad.

Despite claims that Levante will contest the Tunisian’s transfer to Celtic the 26-year-old has been listed for the Champions League and will wear the number 11 shirt.

Celtic’s 25 man squad has been published by UEFA on their website with the Tunisian included alongside fellow signing Efe Ambrose and Miku.

Goalkeeper Lubos Kamenar has been lefT out of the Champions League squad meaning that Robbie Thomson would step up if Fraser Forster or Lucsz Zaluska were injured.

Responding to the Levante claims over Nouioui Neil Lennon said: “There is nothing really to say. He is a Celtic player who did his medical on Monday and he is training this morning at Lennoxtown with the rest of the players who are here and we are very pleased to have him.

“When the story broke about Levante we were involved in the game (against Hibernian on Saturday) but having spoken to Peter (Lawwell, Celtic chief executive) and his (Lassad’s) advisors everything is above board, it is the way we do our business anyway.

“Whether another agent got involved I don’t know, sometimes these people do get involved and sort of muddy the water a little bit but as far as we are concerned everything was done the right way.

“I don’t know what repercussions there can be, certainly not on our part anyway. I am assuming that the player is aware of the kerfuffle.

“But I met him yesterday for the first time, we spoke for a lengthy period of time and Levante never came into the conversation once.”

There will be European action for Celtic’s youth side this week as they host Sporting Lisbon in the Next Gen Series on Thursday night. The match will be played at Firhill with a 7.30pm kick off with admission at the gate of £5.

Something to do with the number of foreign players! Only allowed 17! Makes sense really because like kevinbarry says if any keeper gets injured he can be draughted in!

Good business if u ask me. Why go spend money on a player who might turn oot tae be a dud.

Just look at the fella miku signed on loan for the season and is reported to be worth in the region of 5 – 8 mill.

He’s older than our usual signings but a proven goalscorer.

Lennon and his scouting team know what they r doing so I have no worries that they will be good additions to the sqaud.
