Gary Hooper newsKris Commons has challenged Craig Levein to explain his exclusion from the Scotland squad.

Earlier this season the Scotland boss was happy to explain that there were seven or eight players ahead Commons in his plans.

Following two bore-draws at Hampden with Serbia and Macedonia Levein has performed a u-turn in selecting Steven Fletcher.

Commons was again missing from the squad to face Wales and Belgium with the Champions League hero in the dark about the breakdown of his international career.

“It would be nice of him to tell me if I am not in his plans but at the minute I am in limbo,” Commons revealed.

“Everyone seems to think I should be in the squad but the only man who doesn’t want me in the squad is the manager, so it would be nice to find out if he has a problem with my game or attitude.

“I have no idea (why). I was called up last season a couple of times.

“I have had no text message, no phone call, nothing from the SFA so it is kind of baffling for me but if Craig Levein genuinely thinks there are seven players better than me then that’s his view.

“I am still disappointed not to be involved in the squad. I have to forget about it while they crack on and try to get a result against Wales and Belgium.

“So good luck to them and hopefully I can do enough to get into the next squad.”

While Levein prepares to put a positive spin on the upcoming internationals Commons will be able to rest up and prepare for two Champions League clashes with Barcelona.

The answer is simple enough…Craig Levein is a FUD….a 100% clueless FUD.

No matter Kris, he won’t be there much longer, although any pretence of possible qualification will have long gone by then.

He who laughs last etc…..enjoy pitting your skills against Barcelona et al while watching Scotland struggle with Wales and get the usual going over in Belgium.

Makes you wonder if it’s a hidden directive from above. A player born in Mansfield is dropped to make way for one from Shrewsbury? Sounds dodgy. No interest in them tbh & agree that Levein is a fud. It should be the 22 best eligible players regardless of where they are from or who they play for. The days of 11 “Scots” are long gone. The rest of the world naturalise players & so should we.

Im glad! Thats one less bhoy we have to worry about getting injured while away!

Totally agree Jack. Wouldn’t let any Celtic player play for them to be honest. Celtic are in the biggest football competition in the world. I can’t stand international football.

Levein won’t be able to provide an answer to Kris until he asks his puppet master what he can say. His lips have to be moved for him. Then again, let’s be honest. Scotland are getting such great results these days under Levein that his total control of the squad is clear for all to see. Why would he change a continually winning team?
After all, two massive points from two home World Cup qualifiers against two teams almost certain to be among the favourites to land the big cup itself, support everyhting Levein says. His selections are clearly spot on.

Levein is a total joke. Commons would probably be the best in the team!!!

Ive said for years celtic should withdraw every celtic player from scotland selection. They are against us throughout history and use us when it suits, f them
