Campbell Ogilvie Rangers newsCampbell Ogilvie wants to play peacemaker between the SFA and Charles Green.

The SFA president has been keeping a low profile since Rangers went into administration and the disclosure that he received an EBT payment.

Ogilvie was a director at Rangers when the EBT scheme was introduced while also being a committee member at the SFA.

Green has been involved in a war of words with the SFA since Sevco were granted membership with Ogilvie hoping that he can sooth things over once Lord Nimmo Smith has given his verdict on the dual contracts controversy.

“Now, things are up and running, and I would like to sit down and speak to Charles Green,” the SFA president stated.

“I thought it was better after the summer to let the dust settle but, as president, I believe I have a role to play in trying to bring things together and moving forward for the future.

“That’s not just relative to Rangers, it’s in any situation with any club.”

Asked about his own position being compromised Ogilvie added: “Until we know the outcome, I can’t comment any further than I have already done.

“I’ve tried to be upfront throughout this process. Really, we have to see what the outcome is.

“I don’t see that it should make any difference to the way I operate, but I think it’s only fair that we hear the outcome of both that tribunal and the SPL tribunal.

“I’d like to see what the outcome is first of all. You’ve got to remember at the time, when these were operated, they were perfectly legal, if operated correctly.

“So let’s see what comes out of it. Further down the line, we will just have to wait and see.

“If there was a feeling that it was causing an issue, then I would have to discuss that with the Association.”

Don’t think it has ever been disputed if operated legally EBT’S are ok. But you will KNOW rfc were told from day one they were doing it illegally…Tax free NON-REpayable “LOANS” What planet are you on. Obviously thinks he can help out before being booted out…Any self respect he would have resigned immediately.

Maybe help chico out as one cheat to another

    • Ciaran says:

Maybe Ogilvie has been reading Rangers Tax Case on twitter and has suddenly realised that he, and every other beneficiary of an EBT run by Rangers, may be pursued by HMRC for payment of tax.

Wait for the flood of side letters promising immunity when HMRC start knocking on doors.

  • Joe says:

What he is doing here is trying to save his ass.

There isn’t any question he wants to get in there to try and hide the things that will incriminate him. Like the others he is corrupt and if he didn’t possess the cojones to step down, the SFA should have terminated him, but they have a long history at the SFA in protection of their own.Look at the most crooked ref of all time, mr dallas.

He was allowed to be biased against us for years because it suited the others at Sfa.

He was such an arrogant cheat that he thought he could keep getting away with anything he did, but he never thought about “cyberspace”. His corruption was exposed and so has the corruption of many others who were all associated with that old club who used to be called rangers.

Ogilvie is running scared and in my opinion, wants to shred documents or do something to take the heat off. Even if they get away with all this corrupt stuff, and I honestly think they will, the world now knows they cheated.

This odious man must never be allowed near any discussions. In any other industry he would have either been removed from office or at the very least been put on gardening leave. Cover up coming

  • Mick says:

If this cretin steps up to “mediate” then I will expect Celtic particularly Peter Lawwell to go straight to UEFA, and not discuss, but Inform them we will pull out of any league where this corrupt individual has a say.
Good god has this man and this organisation have no SHAME.

    • StandAndDeliver says:

Something should be done to kick this corrupt tax dodging Murray puppet out of the game. Maybe it is time to boycott Scotland games until this parasite is gone.

    • jackmac says:

I agree totally but am worried we are trying too hard to be impartial. We all know that any club can say anything but as soon as WE speak up it gets turned around and twisted

  • paranoidandroid says:

Resign ya bam! Then, if I was you, I’d look for a country with no extradiction treaty- one where the orc hoardes cant get you, either.

  • StandAndDeliver says:

Typical RFC parasite. Decades of these infiltrators paving the way for the Establishment Club. God willing he is the last corrupt RFC puppet to hold back the Scottish Football for the benefit of the dark side.

  • jackmac says:

I think we all know he will be given a role in this somewhere. The ‘organisation’ need to show backing for one of their own.Think it’s time for the collective chairmen to listen to their own supporters AGAIN and ‘instruct’ them he should be removed from office followed by armageddon and the other muppets.

  • Rhobin Hood says:

Why should the SFA NEED a peace maker? All it would take for peace to break out “is for good men to do”, something to paraphrase the November Statement to end all statements. For the war to end Rangers must accept their responsibilities, no? The are the People, they should pay their debts accept they have wronged the Nation and get on with it with NO bragging write for an age.

  • Thomas says:

Buy nothing with SFA on it.
Corrupt and racist, SFA hell in a handcart…

  • Kenny McCaffrey says:

Brilliant – he finally breaks cover to say he could help out Green then says he shouldn’t say anything till the verdict comes out – so he, er, shouldn’t say a word in the first place… jeez, you couldn’t make it up.

Anyway, no doubt he’ll be a bit busy himself once all the verdicts come in – trying his best to smooth things over for himself. (maybe Keevins could do an interview??)

  • GWG says:

Totally corrupt both morally and professionally.
If he believes that the EBT’s HE benefited from were legal then he’ll have a rude awakening
when Hector comes calling, he has the option to produce the paperwork for HIS bung and
dispel any doubts over his integrity … will he? NO!!
Ya cou;dn’y burn his neck with a blow torch as with the “others” in that corrupt organisation

  • glass onion says:

Not really got much of a clue about the in’s and out’s and the legalities etc. of this whole debacle and I’m sure the rabbit hole goes deeper yet? On the whole, I’m just very embarrassed to be called scottish at the moment!

  • Antonious F says:

it’s all a bit like my fav film ‘Shawshank Redemption’ where the Govan brigade are the prison screws led by Warden Norton himself ‘Mr Ogilvie’. The internet bampots are Andy Dufrene, the wronged prisoner who gets screwed by the system and finally exposes the corruption within. And what happened when the authorities (HMRC/FIFA/UEFA) come calling, looking for justice. They blame each other and tried to walk away.
