Marc Crosas was among the first to congratulate Celtic on their win over Barcelona with even the mighty Catalan club posting their praise on twitter.
Crosas, or the Bishop as he’s known in twitter circles, was the first Celtic player to engage with supporters through twitter with his affection for the club shining through.
The midfielder was signed from Barcelona by Gordon Strachan but quickly bought into Celtic and illustrates that through his regular banter on twitter.
At the final whistle he tweeted: “AMAZING! Well done bhoys!!! What a great performance from the whole team not to mention the atmosphere at Celtic Park!@OfficialNeil #legend.”
Shortly afterwards he added: “@tonywatt32 who’s The legend now my bhoy??hehe! “
During the match the Santos Laguna midfielder tweeted in Catalan but pre-match he tweeted: “ GOD I miss Glasgow and the amazing nights at Paradise!tonight will be one Of them! #OnceaBhoyAlwaysaBhoy @celticfc #barça#ChampionsLeague.”
Crosas praise was matched by the official Barcelona twitter account which stated: “Congratulations to @CelticFC for well-earned victory a day after their 125-year anniversary. #FCBLive .”
Former Celtic player and Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish tweeted: “What an unbelievable result for Neil Lennon and all at Celtic.Only Lisbon beats it.The noise was deafening. Enjoy tonight. “
Jamie Redknapp analysed the action for Sky Sports and was full of praise for the hoops tweeting: “All you Celtic fans should be proud after what your team achieved tonight, beating the best team ever.”
Fellow Sky pundit Chris Kamara added: “2-1 its all over. What a special night for Celtic, Neil Lennon‘s tactics brill, players fought like beavers & fans sang there hearts out.”
Scotland coach Mark Wotte agreed adding: “Watt a good night for Scottish Football,enjoyed Neil Lennon‘s Team, defensive discipline and clinical finishing essential for top result” !
