Neil Lennon has revealed that Juan Agudelo is a serious signing target.
The United States striker has been training with Celtic having previously spent time with Liverpool.
The 20-year-old is currently playing with Chivas USA but is keen to move to Europe to further his career with the Celtic boss a definite admirer.
Lennon said: “He has looked very good, we have been very impressed with him.
“We are hoping he will stay around for a few more days and we can talk with his representatives.
“I haven’t had the chance to sit down with everyone and discuss it but myself and my backroom team have been very impressed.”
Aguedo has already won 16 full caps and has been impressed by Celtic during his time in Scotland.
“I know the history, it’s basically a religion for many,” he said. “Just to have that there and have the support of the whole city would be lovely.
“Especially due to the fact they are consistently Champions League. Being in the group stage of the Champions League is huge.
“We’ll see. I’d have to consider a lot of things but definitely, Celtic is a great club. This kind of move has been on my mind for as long as I can remember playing soccer.
“Going and playing in Europe is what I would like to do. This is, right now, where the best football is being played. I would love to play here.”
Aguedo was born in Columbia but moved to New York with his family as a seven-year-old and started his career playing for New York Red Bulls.

not sure I like the way we do business in public like this, however hope he turns owt to be a good capture.
Generally is we are making things public, I tend to think the interest is not overly serious.
We have Hooper / Stokes / Lassad / Miku / Watt will this lad leapfrog them all to claim a regular starting place ? I doubt it.
