Juventus newsJuventus had to leave it late to sink Cagliari at ‘neutral’ Parma to go ten points clear at the top of Serie A.

After trailing to a 16th minute penalty from Mauricio Panilla the Turin side scored three times in the last 15 minutes, including two in stoppage time, to claim all three points.

The match had been switched away from Sardinia to Parma under orders from the Serie A authorities who were fearful that the home sides’ stadium couldn’t cope with such a high profile match to the disgust of Cagliari president Massimo Cellino.

He said: “I feel a deep sense of shame and embarrassment, having done everything possible to give this stadium to the team and to Sardinia.

“The local council authorised the game to go ahead, so if Juventus had agreed then we would have played in Cagliari.

“It is their right and they showed they are happier to play in Parma. We had to organise everything for this match in the space of 24 hours.

“We hope that justice exists in football. We thought it was a privilege not to be involved, with players or coaches, in any scandals and having balanced books despite no stars on our shirts.

“We are proud of our club. The Sardinians evidently have a defect, which is to respect the laws and not just do anything we want.”

Despite the unsocial venue and evening kick-off Cagliari were awarded a penalty after Arturo Vidal fouled Marco Sau in the area and the Mauricio Pinilla striking the ball high past Gigi Buffon into the net.

Midway through the second half Cagliari defender Davide Astori was dismissed for a second yellow card offence with his coach, Ivo Pulga, sent to the stand for protesting the decision.

Alessandro Matri equalised for Juve in the 75th minute before netting again in the second minute of stoppage time with Mirko Vucinic adding a third in the fifth minute of stoppage time!
