Craig Whyte Rangers

Sevco fans have condemned Dundee United supporters’ plans to  wear Craig Whyte masks to the Scottish Cup tie between the two clubs next month.

Despite a club sanctioned boycott of the match one official supporters group has complained to the Daily Record about the stunt being planned by a facebook group of United fans.

Whyte bought Rangers from David Murray in May 2011 for £1 and was cheered into Ibrox the day after taking over the club.

Within a year however things turned sour with the club put into administration followed by liquidation in June 2012.

As soon as the Scottish Cup draw was made there were calls from Ibrox supporters to boycott the fixture with Charles Green quickly making it club policy.

United have already sold more than 200 tickets directly to Sevco fans with the Whyte mask upsetting Ibrox fans chief John McMillan.

He told the Record: “I was anticipating the United supporters doing something but I didn’t think they would stoop to this.

It’s out of order and Dundee United as a club should do all they can to prevent their fans from carrying this threat through.

The majority of Rangers fans will not be at the game and observe the boycott but unfortunately I’m certain some of them will go to Tannadice so this is a recipe for trouble.

It’s inflammatory to wear these masks and it’s disgraceful to even be thinking about it.

This game is already raised tensions and I fear any move to mock our support could have serious consequences.”

Dont be spoilsports, take a joke, think of all the jokes we all have done in the past at football matches.
The newco is a crap team, they will not show a profit
this season, even though they have a small pool of players with small wages.
So lighten up you time will come in twenty/thirty years.

There’s one thing about the orcs: they’re always up for a good laugh.

Another threat dished out from them. ‘do anything to mock us and there will be retribution & we cannot be held accountable for that for we have been provoked’

Usual nonsense from they with no sense of humour, they counter humour with hate/violence.

They arra peepo though so I better watch what I say.

  • Monti says:

    Well done Dundee Utd fans.

Wouldn’t it just be excellent, if our man Wee Craigy, turned up in person. If you are reading Craigy..Your adoring public awaits, and you are long overdue a wee ccurtain call. Perhaps Dundee Utd would be kind enough to offer you a ticket in the DB. You could sit next to Chuckie. C’Mon Craigy bhoy! Do the right thing. HH

    • Jbhoy1967 says:

Perfect time to sneak in whilst everyone’s got the masks on, who would know wee Craig was there to watch the fruits of his labour.

  • Eddie says:

Sensitive wee souls … up in arms over a wee face mask. Never mind their 140 days of bigotry pouring out our TVs from the 4th tier of the leagues.
I hope Utd give them a real going over. Lets face it they truly are 3rd div team who have relied on opposition sendings off to give them the edge in many games.
If they lose heavily then we can sit back with the popcorn and watch them turn on Sally again.

    Pmsl….GIRFUY’s

Why wouldn’t they rub it in…Oldco, prevented many Scottish teams from making more money during the “dual contract” days. The Case might of swung in Oldco’s favour with regards to HMRC but its still alive within the rules of the SFA/SPL. Evryone know’s they never declared those contracts and brought in talent they other wise could not afford.

They have a cheek to boycott anything after almost destroying the Scottish game. Once again preventing fellow Scottish teams from making more money with this latest episode. Their shame has no limits!!

Admittance is the first step to recovery, not denial. Oldco/Newco/Sevco = Disgrace!!

  • Bobo says:

“inflammatory” “disgraceful”……wait a minute they’re only wearing masks not robbing money from hospitals and schools !! Jeezo you’d think they had stole the Poppy charity money or something…..

  • Embra A-rab says:

‘Recipe for trouble’?! ‘Stoop’?! That made me laugh. There hasn’t been a Utd-Rangers game in the 35 years I’ve been going to football matches when we’ve been able to walk to the game without being shouted at and verbally abused by complete strangers in Rangers shirts, just because we happen to be wearing Dundee Utd scarves. After a cup match at Ibrox years ago, when McSwegan scored in extra time to win the game for Utd, everyone in the away car park was showered with bottles, bricks and planks of wood. They don’t need any incitement. The school bully never could take a joke, or like being stood up to

    • Aldo says:

I’ll never forget the United fan who offered a young me a chip after the 88 cup final despite his team losing. Fair play to him…..ps bring back Ivan Golac in the summer

  • Tully says:

Sad to see the tribute act known as Sevco are continuing on with the threats and intimidation of their old defunct club.
They give the word scum a bad name!

  • KevinBarry says:

You would think its hitler masks by the reaction.
This is the same fans who held banners about child abuse, famine and ‘nakamura ate my dog’. No wonder people hate them.

  • jebus says:

what a bunch of whiney bastards the fans of this new team are!! god bless you Sir Craig Whyte

  • Gerryj67 says:

Craig Whyte was Rangers FC( IL) who died from bigotry not Sevco who were born from bigotry. So why are they complaining.

  • Belfast Mac says:

Ahh ffs sevco fc, even Rangers fc who died last year had a better sense of humour than you!

  • Monti says:

Arise sir Craig your adoring public awaits your coming

  • bhoy67 says:

Once more the easily offended are able to issue threats to all and sundry without censure, sevco only do “banter” while everybody else does “provocation”,we really should give ourselves a good dose of self policing, just look how its worked for sevcovians.

  • VHF says:

Get Craig on the pitch at halftime for the draw !!

  • williebhoy says:

How can they be offended when they won’t be in attendance ?

Maybe they can collect 100,000 signatures to submit a petition to the SFA that Dundee United fans are taking the piss. Shouldn’t take them long with 500 millions fans to choose from 🙂
