Cheeky Anthony Stokes has turned to twitter to snatch Celtic’s second goal in the 4-0 win over St Johnstone from Charlie Mulgrew.
An excited home crowd saluted Mulgrew’s 36th minute free kick finding the net but after the final whistle Stokes sprung into action claiming the goal from his team-mate.
“Great result and performance,” he tweeted. “Liifting the trophy makes all the hard work throughout the year worth while! 2nd goal shud b mine got a touch!
“I know a few ppl has money on me to score so that why I’m saying it lol doesn’t make any difference to me but fact is I touched it!
Stokes added: “@charlie_mulgrew haha ask the boys that wer in the box behind me @joe16led saw it too haha my goal jog on boooom.”
Manager Neil Lennon enjoyed the occasion to the max, after the match he tweeted: “ Thank you for another memorable day..seeing Scott lift the trophy was fantastic and the tribute to Stillian was wonderful.
Before the match he tweeted: “125 years of unique history will be celebrated today with another championship. Enjoy today.”
From further afield Efrain Juarez tweeted: “Well done bhoys @joe16led@HOOP588@stoksey10.”
Away from twitter Lennon added: “The home form since the turn of the year has been as good as I have seen in my time here. We have won 12 out of 12 and the least amount of goals we have scored was three against Hibs. Everything else has been four and there was even a six against Dundee United.
“So at home we have been playing some spectacular football. We know we need to tidy up away from home but the league is won now and we can really focus on the finishing the season with a cup final.”
Charlies goal every day of the week, and a corker at that.
You missed it Stokesy and if it brushed your jersey, only just, somewhere between your shoulderblades on the way in it doesn’t make it yours.
It had absolutely no effect on the flight of a sublime strike from Mulgrew and quite frankly I’m a bit dissappointed in Anthony laying any claim to such a fantastic solo effort.
You missed it Anthony, thankfully.
Ps. I’m reading that in Scotland nooadays it’s offensive to celebrate a birthday for fear it might upset the dead.
Challs’ loyalist terrorist sectarian outburst, ‘no surrenda’?
Sleekits fascist sectarian racist cry to the murderous scum, ‘we arra peepo’?
Nice try Stokesie, but you were nowhere near that ball, and even further away from the fourth one!
I’ve just listened to Shaun Maloney after the FA Cup Final. What a pea- brain! To think I was so excited for the little piece of garbage! The fake English accent made me sick! He was a nobody, a failure in Birmingham at Villa, yet suddenly he is English!
