Stand-in Sevco chief executive Craig Mather has issued a warning to the football authorities over the administration of Hearts.
The failed former football agent and horse raining trainer is following in the footsteps of Charles Green in commenting on issues that he has no real knowledge of but which is sure to prove popular with supporters of the Third Division champions.
Failing to appreciate that Hearts were hit with a 50% harsher punishment for going into administration than Rangers suffered in 2012 Mather warned that he was watching events closely.
Using his clubs’ website he said: “The situation at Hearts, putting everything else to one side for a minute, affects people’s livelihoods. From that perspective, I do have sympathy for all of them there.
“I just hope common sense prevails and people aren’t as quick to judge and make rash decisions like they did with us then have to pick up the pieces afterwards.
“It is important time is taken to make the right decisions. I’m not privy to all the information but they need to make an educated decision to avoid the fall-out there was with Rangers.
“That can’t happen again to Scottish football. I will be watching with interest to make sure it is a black and white decision and that it’s fair.
“All points need to be taken into consideration and we have to make sure the decisions made are right.”
Mather hasn’t expressed any opinion on the administration situation at Second Division rivals Dunfermline. Perhaps once his club have published audited accounts he’ll be in a position to comment on the finances of other clubs.
Hearts face a desperate fight to avoid liquidation with BDO hoping to raise £600,000 by the end of this week to see the club through to the start of the new season.
If Hearts fail to agree a CVA to their debtors the club will go into liquidation throwing Scottish football into chaos with no mechanism in place to give their newco a place in the lowest tier of the Scottish Professional Football League.
Another bawbag ….who says what gullible Bears want to hear…..
Tell him to comment on Michael Grant’s piece in today’s Herald….
Oh…and while I’m at it…..
Sack the incompetents at the SFA and SPl……before they merge….and it’s too late.
The huns of Glasgow and Edinburgh will probably be playing each other in the 1st div. in season 2014-2015.
Rivalry is the best thing about football …what games are Celtic fans going to look forward to if there is no Hearts ..you already have no derby just not good for Scottish football
Where did hearts finish last season?? They really are not that good.
Hail hail
What do you mean “you already have no derby” there is a Glasgow derby. Glasgow’s two biggest club will play against each other Glasgow Celtic (Scotland’s biggest club) and boys from Firhill Glasgow second BIG team Partick Thistle.
No derby !
Try Partick or do teams that pay their bills no count.
I no bother let us worry about it and you can stress about something else, clown HH
Timing is everything and this inbred orc is fooling no one. Just as info is being released about sevcos purchase of £1.5m worth of players and running at a £1.1m loss per month he’s trying to deflect all the scrutiny on to Hearts.
Hearts will be dealt with and punished severely if they go into liquidation so this Orc should shut his breathing hole. Oh aye and a question for him “have you any audited accounts yet”????
Hail hail
So Mather will be watching will he?
Well ya fanny, we’ll be watching and scrutinising your every corrupt and cheating sevconian move.
No hiding place for the cheating zombie scroungers.
maybe if sevco had of paid the full amount for lee wallace the hearts situation might not of been as bad . anyway back to the 3rd level and mind your own business you stupid orc .
Mather’s a mere amateur when it comes to rabble rousing. That statement’s a bit limp and embarrassing- waffling, contradictory nonsense. The orcs will be scratching their heads for months.
He could do with a few lessons from the masters, Sally or Charlie: keep it simple and keep it ugly. That’s what they like.
The huns ‘don’t do’ embarrassing Para.
