Sevco have issued a one line statement following news that star midfielder Ian Black is to be charged by the SFA for betting on his team not to win in three football matches.

Last night a statement read: “The club is aware of the SFA’s notice of complaint and are currently investigating the matter.”

Despite the severity of the allegations that has been no robust defence of the player or demands from Ally McCoist to find the names of the people that alerted the SFA to the issue.

On Saturday the club website was used to issue a statement attacking internet rumours but not a word was said in defence of Scotland star Black who was signed from Hearts last summer.

Yesterday the SFA released details of the charge against Black which could see the £8,000-a-week former painter and decorator booted out of football.

The SFA statement read: “The Compliance Officer has issued the following Notice of Complaint: Alleged Party in Breach: Ian Black, Rangers FC Dates: 4th March 2006 to 28th July 2013 Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached:

Disciplinary Rule 22 (Season 2012/13 and preceding Rules and Articles):

(1) By betting on three football matches on then-registered club not to win.

(2) By betting on a further 10 football matches that involved then-registered club.

(3) By betting on a further 147 football matches.

Principal Hearing Date: Thursday, 12th September 2013

Mr Black has until Monday 26th August 2013 to respond to the complaint.

Disciplinary Rule 22 (Rule 33 in updated Judicial Panel Protocol for season 2013/14): No club, official, Team Official or other member of Team Staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall bet in any way on a football match (except authorised and registered football pools).

Please note that there is no evidence to suggest any breach of Disciplinary Rule 23 (Rule 34 in updated Judicial Panel Protocol for season 2013/14).

Disciplinary Rule 23, for reference: No club, official, Team Official, other member of Team Staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall knowingly behave in a manner, during or in connection with a match in which the party has participated or has any influence, either direct or indirect, which could give rise to an event in which they or any third party benefits financially through betting.

It’s unclear how the SFA were alerted to Black betting on his team to lose, in contrast to reports linking Charles Green with Craig Whyte it seems that the SFA will conduct their own investigation rather than accept an internal probe from the club.

Black is believed to have used a telephone account with Ladbrokes to place bets on his team losing.

If Black is found guilty he could be banned from football for life although an internal Sevco inquiry could lead to his dismissal similar to Fran Sandaza who was sacked by the club for comments made in a hoax interview with a football agent which was broadcast on the internet.

What a perfect match Black and Sevco. Cheats through and through.

  • seaney67 says:

Yeah good point Joe, SFA wont let the Sevco do an internal investigation for them on this one, strange hmmm.

Black might have a chance the sewer rat.

I mean if chuckie green came out and backed him alarms would be going off at interpol ffs.

  • Slugger O'Toole says:

Will anything happen to him if found guilty ? I wouldn’t bet on it……..

  • MartyBhoy says:

Who cares? He’s barely a footballer playing for a team in the 3rd tier of Scottish football…your obsession with all things Sevco only gives credence to their belief that they are a big deal…on the day of a massive game for our beloved Hoops you should be embarrassed that your post for today relates to a no-mark footballer playing for an irrelevant football team.

  • Green Lantern says:

The Govan Cheetahs continue with another of the traditions for which they are known and justly reviled throughout the sporting world.

You couldn’t mark their necks with a blowtorch.

  • HoopNo7 says:

It will give Sevco the chance to do a Sandaza…. and get another high earning under performer off the books! this makes me sad because Black is everything Sevco strives to be… a cheat!

  • keith says:

  • MartyBhoy says:

Joe – fair play to you for the effort you put in to the website, and I do get some laughs from time to time, but ‘Video Celts’ is a misleading name for a website when most of its content and articles relates to Sevco…thats all I’m saying.

  • Sweeney Hughes says:

The funny thing is Marty, you don’t seem to post on Celtic stories, not even the next thread about tonights all important fixture.
Do you not think that a bit strange?
Infact apart from this post answering your own post from the previous page I can’t seem to find any posts from you at all.
    Why would that be Marty?
You apparently are more interested in.posts about the filth than you are about Celtic.
    Why would that be Marty?
No opinion on tonights game at all Marty?

funny thing is sweeney you must be the most hateful guy on line with some off the things you say ,jesus do you not think about what you say huns ,filth, beggers ,scum to name but a few im not the only one who thinks your hate for them is very dangerous . try and ride above it man not all huns are what you think look were we are and were they are and by the way im not a hun but members off my family are HH

    • Sweeney Hughes says:

Funny thing is malky, I don’t give a fk what you and your pal think, to me this is just another attempt to stop people talking about the huns, so that they can continue in their toxic behaviour, as for ‘filth beggers, scum’ this is small potatos compaired to what we’re called on their vile sites, but do me a favour and tell me where I’m wrong.
Where the huns not ILLEGALLY BEGGING in the street last year?
Do you not think this has an effect on real people collecting for real charity?

Oh! ‘charity’ let’s not talk about that, eh!

I’m more angry about the people in authority that facilitate, ecourage and enable them in their vile behaviour ‘malky’, you know the ones that ignore their behaviour in the media, that airbrushed the attempted murder of at least two police officers and a Russian fan in Manchester. It’s like it never happened. They’ve even got to the stage where they, they being the mutton takers in the laptop loyalist Scottish media, talk about how fantastic it all was, a bit like the incredulously named ‘Bar 72’ at the hunnery.
Even going back to the last ‘old firm’game, when every right thinking person was disgusted with their vile support, I mean what kind of people sit and meaningfully create a song mocking the death of a young girl dying from cancer? And worse what kind of support join in?
And what kind of politician proclames what a fantastic atmosphere it was?
And what kind of journalist looks the other way and pretends it didn’t happen?
Probably the same ones that tell vile lies about Celtic supporters coughing during a minutes silence, or puts a mic OUTSIDE a stadium and plays the noise over a perfectly held minutes silence inside the stadium!

They had a God given opportunity to walk away, no pun intended, from their disgracefull history, but instead we had challs over in NI promising a new orange strip ffs!
But that’s no worse than Murray taking the bigots pound in actually bringing out the first one or the one with the big fkn sash across it ffs!
We’ve all heard them singing the same songs and behaving in exactly the same manner on the Streets of Glasgow, absolutely nothing has changed, and Scottish society as a whole are desperate to get them right back to were they can do the most damage to Scotlands reputation, as they were allowed to do in the not so distant past.
And btw the list of their supporters crimes is long and quite shocking and does not do our sport, city or country any favours, but I’ll desist from citing any more incase I upset your delicate feelings for der hun.
Sleekit sally made a statement back in 94 about having a good laugh at Celtics misfortune, while their chairman, who is credited in some places for ordering in the overdraft from the bank inthe first place, said if we were drowning he would put a hose down our throat, while the scumbags in the smsm had a full colour back page of a hearse outside Celtic Park beside a tombstone, and now they have been caught with their fingers in the till we should be cutting them some slack?
Their fans are despicable cnuts and right up until the cry came out to save the gers, they were fkn proud of it, they aare the people, they can do whatever they fkn like, we’ve even had the sleekit slob shouting ‘we are the peepo’, board members shouting ‘no surrender’ and their no one media idol shouting ‘hello! hello!’ down the airways of a national radio station, you know the song whos third line refers to being up to their knees in Catholic blood? Ffs!!
If Celtic were guilty of a quarter of what the huns have proven to be guilty of, we would have been closed down two years ago, if not before, and our name mentioned only as a national disgrace a clame that is surely backed up by the treatment we recieved from the same ‘institutions’ for ONE MILLION POUNDS over and above our overdraft.
There would be no housing development in it’s place, it would be left to rot for a few years so they could have their jollies, before being demolished and a wastland left to remind Timmy of their place.

  • Barry says:

    Very informative as usual Joe.

  • malky says:

i was told about this site only few days back thats why ive never been on it ,but if i have annoyed you then i can only say fair enough and leave HH

  • Sweeney Hughes says:

Huns are ‘rangers’ or whatever they’ve decided to call themselves this week to help them avoid the consequences of their criminal behaviour, malky.
It doesn’t matter what religion colour or nationality they are, if they support the huns, then they’re a hun.
    D’ye get it?
You’re the only one making any claims that it is ontherwise.
I think we all know what your agenda is ‘malky’, even after your last pathetic post.
Just like a hun, ye know, rangers supporter.
You’ve not annoyed me, please post as much of your back as you like, as long as Joe wants to put up with your sectarian haverings, I could read it all day, it just reminds me of just what a despicable shower of scumbags you and your fellow huns are.

No doubt we’ll be hearing from you soon, under whatever name you decide to use.
How many is that this week?

    Oh ye, and HH
