Paul George Celtic newsPaul George has joined Hamilton Accies on loan till the end of the season.

The 19-year-old played against Hamilton last week in the u-20 league and did enough to impress Alex Neill that he could contribute to the club’s promotion bid.

George seemed poised to get his top team chance but his career has stalled following a horrific leg break he suffered from Lewis McLeod of Rangers (IL) in April 2012- the same day that Celtic clinched the SPL title at Rugby Park.

Earlier that season George had made his first team debut in a League Cup tie away to Ross County where he almost scored during his brief substitute appearance.

In October 2011 he was at the heart of the Celtic youth side that destroyed Manchester City home and away in the Next Gen Series playing alongside Tony Watt, Callum McGregor, Jackson Irvine and Dylan McGeoch.

Sadly injury has blighted much of that sides progress although Marcus Fraser and Joe Chalmers appeared for the first team against Galatasaray on Sunday, Fraser was sidelined following a cruciate ligament injury while Chalmers had surgery for a hip complaint.

George won’t have far to look for a familiar face with former hoops striker James Keatings top scorer for Hamilton with 7 goals from 17 SPFL appearances.

Hamilton are sitting just a point behind Dundee at the top of the table as they attempt to return to the top flight three seasons after being relegated.

On Saturday Hamilton are away to Dundee at Dens Park with George hoping to make his debut.
