Saviour King fears Sevco can’t pay February wages

Dave King AdministrationDave King fears that Sevco will be unable to meet the February payroll.

The man described as a shameless and glib liar by a South African judge during a prolonged case in which he was found guilty of 44 offences each worth a two year jail term has voiced his fears to the Daily Record.

King was in Scotland in November for talks with Jim McColl’s rebels but was unable to strike a deal with the Easdale brothers to get a new blazer for Paul Murray.

The South African based billionaire has regularly voiced his concerns about the finances of the new club and earlier this season predicted that they would be in administration by Christmas.

That prediction fell flat on it’s face but looks to have only been delayed as the final money from the December 2012 IPO is used to pay off former finance director Brian Stockbridge.

Sevco’s finances have been under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks following Graham Wallace, who used to work for Manchester City, decision to hold conceptual discussions with players about pay cuts.

Those discussions were rejected by the players who were backed up by £825,0000-a-year manager Ally McCoist in clear contempt for the current board.

Just over a week ago the paranoia of the board was illustrated by a statement from Wallace denying the claims by an Irish based blogger that the clumpany had been holding emergency meetings to discuss the deteriorating financial position.

In January Wallace told the Daily Record that there was no chance of the club going into administration which delighted McCoist.

As recently as Friday the former Question of Sport skipper was optimistically dismissing administration saying: “He [Wallace] has categorically told me that will not be the case. He told me once and if that changed he would have told me otherwise.

“He told me that’s not the case and that’s good enough for me.”

Now two years and three days on from Craig Whyte putting the original club into administration it looks certain that February 2014 will deal a similar fate to Sevco.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Why don’t all/some/just one of the ex-players of the old team called Rangers pay back their EBT? After all they managed to convince the financial investigators that the EBT’s were “loans”.

There has been a constant stream of these “I loved my time at the best club in the world” EBT beneficiaries writing columns in every newspaper that would give them space (and a good few bucks) to do so. They would have wrung tears from a stone with their declarations of love and affection for the old club…so why not pay back the “loans” now if they love the old club so much? It’s a rhetorical question obviously, ‘cos we all know the answer…hypocritical bare-faced greedy pot stirrers, never mentioning the word “EBT” in any interview that they gave or any column that they wrote.

Come to think of it I don’t remember any “journalist” asking them directly and specifically about their own EBT.

The wages of sin and all that.

But they’d paying it back to a holding wrapper that doesn’t wrap the club anymore so they would see none of it at the wrapper holding the wrapping currently that’s about to get wrapped up.

Unless they claim it was the old wrapper that got taken on as the new wrapper and that wrapper had outstanding wraps to fulfil

      Eh? Um……..

Serco have not learned any lesson and the sooner they go down the better for Scottish football. The amount of pages they get from the daily ranger and the sun is unbelievable for a lower league team making them think that they still run Scottish football from castle grayscull. But not for much longer!!!

Ally says, “Our proud players will play for nothing”.

“Hang on a wee minute! We’ve already tried that one, and the ungrateful, disloyal buggers all walked away the fastest I’d seen them move in years”.

A good article but why stoop to childlike patter spelling the word company as clumpany? I also think the last sentence should read “Now two years and three days on from Craig Whyte putting Rangers FC into administration it looks certain that February 2014 will deal a similar fate to Sevco 5088.
P.S. Question: How can you have a same club going through a process of liquidation whilst being threatened with administration at the same time? Answer: Ask a Sevco supporter or a laptop loyal journalist and be prepared for a convoluted illogical lie and a body swerve.

Distinct need to keep reminding everyone of the financial impending doom. If you listen to the MSM right now, there is not ONE single question being asked about the big story that is actually going on at Ibrox. Instead it’s deflect to the ridiculous treble chat. Nothing to see here.

When Sevco 2 happens there will be thousands of us this time flooding the media and MSM sportsounds to ask the WTF were you doing??

    Joe,

Your hilarious ( and truthful ) blogs on
Sevco, just keep on coming. Brilliant !!

I like the line…. to get a new blazer for
    Paul Murray. Classic !!

So blueboy Jackson in the daily dump, is doing Sugar Daddy Dave’s talking for him.
Alerting the Zombies, that if anyone can
save them (again) it is the ‘ glib liar ‘

All the while, ogilvie and his cohorts, who
handed out a licence, under supposedly
stringent conditions, are saying sweet F@@@ All.

When are the SFA, going to be brought to
    book ?

  • Andybhoy says:

I agree with the comments by ‘funky’. When is a loan not a loan? The use of EBT’s was a absolute disgrace and I hope that the Hmrc appeal which I understand starts at the end of February is successful. I heard Alex Rae promoting fans purchase of sevco shares and greeting about what Whyte and green (or should it be the other way round!) had done to them. My first thought was he and countless ex players and officials received millions in ‘loans’ why not pay them back!!

  • Jason the Tim says:

I honestly think Dave ‘the glib and shameless liar’ King is hoping they go into liquidation again then he can ride in on his white stallion and save the day…. who care to be honest… WE ARE CELTIC fuck the sevgers

    • peter says:

      Jason,

I hope your right, re liquidation for Sevco.Would love to see them back.down
      in the fourth tier.

What a long long long long journey for them.

  • ian bell says:

best thing for sevco green and whyte theyshould sell disneyworld sorry ibrox and ground share with wick acadamy hail hail

  • Pasty says:

Have to honest but at the end of the day if the Sevco fans listen to Dave King then they will end up with the club themselves. If the club goes into Administration then they will be docked 15 or 25pts but are still likely to win that league. So if the fans don’t buy the next batch of season tickets until the last minute (August) then they could force the board to put the club into Administration (or liquidation) and then buy the club for a token fee just as Green & Co. did.

If the Sevco fans then buy the club it would be likely that King would then invest in order to ensure that his buddies Murray and Co. get the backing of the fans.

At the end of the day the Sevco fans forcing the issue by not buying the season tickets could actually end up getting them more money, less debt and the deeds to the club at the same time as progressing back to the SPFL and better quality players on the way.

It all depends on whether they back King and Murray or Sevco Board No.7.

So fans actually celebrating the demise of Sevco need to be clear about what the outcome could end up looking like. If the current board stays then the Sevco Team will remain weak as King and others won’t pour money in, but as long as they can get their hands on the season ticket funds they can remain will cheaper players – who won’t really threaten anyone in the Championship or SPL for 3 or 4 years or more.

So from a fans perspective, just watching them have to squirm for a number of years will be great as the headlines start to be more frequent about who is beating them and even thumping them on a regular basis.
