Ian Black has launched an outspoken attack against his Ibrox critics.
Twenty-four hours after drawing at home to Albion Rovers, and on the back of a home draw to Stenhousemuir and injury time penalty win at East Fife, the former painter and decorator can’t understand why his side are being criticised.
Black, who was fined and suspended by the SFA earlier this season for betting in matches he played in, has been one of the star performers for Sevco as they romp to the title unbeaten.
Some Sevco fans have made their unhappiness known about the style of football but as he prepares to pick up another lower division title medal Black is puzzled by the criticism the table toppers.
“You come to see us win – we win,” said the £8,000-a-week former Scotland midfielder. “What else do they want? We are there to win the league and it doesn’t matter how we win it.
“They aren’t going to talk about performances in the past when we win the league at the end of the season.
“People will moan on a Saturday because it isn’t entertaining but will forget about it in two days’ time.
“They will talk about the next game coming up and they will talk about how Rangers have won the league.
“We have an opportunity to win it now and I can guarantee that after Wednesday night there will not be a complaint about any performance.
“The manager has been given a team and a job to get us back to the top flight. We won the league last year with kids, we have brought in experience this year and we haven’t been beaten. What else do they want?
“We are still in the Scottish Cup and we have a good chance. So what more can you ask for?
“The boys are working hard and we want to win the league for the fans and for ourselves.”

I watched an SKY interview with the Sevco union of fans rep who was issuing some of the 30,000 (why print that many??) leaflets at the Albion Rovers game. It is now very clear that King’s plan has divided the Sevco support with many deluded fans not comfortable withholding season ticket money, while more than 5,600 deluded fans have allegedly signed up to his master plan to deprive sevco of season ticket cash. Either way Ally’s war chest is not looking good and after watching the latest shambolic performance on Sunday they will struggle in the championship next year without significantly improving that team.
