Leo Fasan newsCeltic’s u-20 side continue their title chase tonight when they face Hibs at Livingston, kick off 6pm.

With one third of the season still to go Celtic are three points clear of Sevco at the top of the table with Hibs a further two points behind, Celtic have to play both sides twice in the remaining 11 matches.

The young hoops are enjoying a great run of form just now with six wins on the bounce picked up with goalkeeper Leo Fasan unbeaten in each of those matches.

Despite having a number of players such as Mikey Miller, Paul George, Stuart Findlay and Lewis Kidd going out on loan the team has put together it’s best run of the season with a number of players stepping up to the occasion.

In midfield Liam Henderson and Conor McManus are improving game by game with Joe Thomson pushing for a place in the centre of the park. At the back Marcus Fraser has returned from injury to form a formidable partnership with Eoghan O’Connell who has pushed his way into Neil Lennon’s first team thoughts.

Up front Filip Twardzik has returned from a 17 month injury absence to score back-to-back goals against Hamilton and Ross County with new signing Holmbert Fridjonsson pitching in with a few goals before being injured at Kilmarnock.

Despite winning the title for the last four seasons the current Celtic side is fairly inexperienced with the bulk of the side eligible to play at u-19 level with the overage rule used sparingly with Beram Kayal and Derk Boerrigter given game time in last week’s 5-0 win over Ross County.

Tonight’s game with Hibs will present the side with a tough challenge as the title run in begins with a visit to Ibrox to take on Sevco pencilled in for March 30 with a 7pm kick off.
