Paul Hartley newsPaul Hartley is on course for a unique set of promotions with Dundee in pole position to win promotion to the Premiership next Saturday.

The former Celtic midfielder won back-to-back title’s for Alloa and came away with a 3-0 win on his return to Recreation Park while title rivals Falkirk and Hamilton both dropped points.

Christian Nade opened the scoring shortly before half time with the Taysiders pressing home the advantage of having an extra man after Daryll Meggat was red carded with 20 minutes left to play.

Next week Dundee host Dumbarton knowing that the destiny of the title and a return to the top division is in their own hands with Hartley’s squad having a strong presence of former Celts with Gary Irvine, Declan Gallagher, Ryan Conroy, Kevin McBride and Nicky Riley all involved in the win at Alloa.

Hartley won’t be taking anything for granted next week with Dumbarton more than capable of creating a shock after hammering Hamilton 4-1 today.

Loan Celt Mikey Miller has been a regular in Ian Murray’s side while Paul George and James Keatings were on the bench for the visitors whose discipline collapsed after going 2-1 down and having player-manager Alex Neil sent off.

As things stand Hamilton will be in the play-off’s alongside Falkirk and Queen of the South with two loan Celts in opposition at Cappielow today.

Falkirk did all the pressing with Joe Chalmers prominent throughout but were unable to make their possession tell with Stuart Findlay prominent in the Morton defence.

Next weekend Falkirk are at home to Alloa with Hamilton hosting Morton.
