Dave King newsThe bitter war of integrity and statements over the state of Sevco was intensified last night with the latest missive from Dave King.

The man described as a glib and shameless liar by a South African judge has decided to attack the Ibrox board over the issue of integrity claiming that he doesn’t ‘regard integrity as a character attribute that comes with an ON/OFF switch.’

That may surprise the tax authorities in South Africa but rather than attempt to find a dignified middle ground to take the club forward King has stepped up his war of statements after calling on supporters to boycott the sale of season tickets.

King also confirmed the claim that he wouldn’t personally be investing in the crisis club.

In his latest statement he admitted: “In an ill-judged attempt to discredit me, they have now disclosed my comment to them that I preferred not to put money into Rangers if it could be found from other sources.

“In this instance they demonstrated their lack of integrity for no advantage as I had already, as part of my frank discussions with the fan groups, advised them that I had no prime ambition to invest further in the club but will do so if no other investors come forward. I would be delighted if the club could thrive without any investment from me.”

King’s latest statement continues along the lines of ‘you said but I said’ like a playground argument over the issue of the fabled 120 day review to take Ally McCoist into the knock-out stages of the Champions League alongside domestic domination.

Ending his latest long range attack he asks four questions of the blue room custodians: “I would like to pose simple questions that are easy to reply to with a simple yes or no.

a) Does the board agree it is unfair to ask fans to buy season tickets before they consider the business review?

b) Does the board agree that, given the present financial position of the club, it is appropriate to provide Ibrox Park and Murray Park as security against season ticket advances?

c) Does the board agree that in the latter half of December 2013 it was in discussions to obtain finance that would be needed prior to the end of the current season?

d) Does the board agree that in the latter half of December 2013 it provided public assurances to the fans that the club had sufficient cash to last until the end of the current season?

It remains to be seen whether the board respond to the latest statement or instigate the legal action that was threatened on Friday. Meanwhile McCoist’s side face Forfar Athletic at Ibrox tomorrow night, some tickets are still available at the ticket office.
