Dave King G & SSevco have turned to Ian Durrant to clear things up after Dave King admitted that the current club playing out of Ibrox is different to the one currently being liquidated by BDO.

The South African based businessman was in Glasgow last week for questioning by Police Scotland when he expressed his desire to pay off £50m and rescue Rangers from the mortuary.

Mr King’s comments come at the same time as have had the creditors pay off postponed due to their own claim over the principal assets, Ibrox Stadium and the state-of-the-art Murray Park training complex.

Despite failing to invest a pound since sweeping to power in March the man described as a glib and shameless liar by a South African judge is ready to splash the cash to prevent other fans taunting Sevco supporters.

Explaining why the new club is actually still the one being liquidated Durrant said: “I think there’s a lot of history, I think Mr King believes in what happened previously in the club, the history of the club and I think he wants to preserve that.

If it makes the club go forward we’re all for it but I think Mr King had lots of memories and I’m sure he’ll try to revive some of the things that happened.”

Star maker Durrant added: “It will always be the same club. It’s Rangers Football Club. Nothing was taken away from the club, they still maintained their same standards.

“I think there’s a lot of mischievous things that go on but nothing in my eyes has changed. It’s still Glasgow Ranger.”

Rangers Football Club went into administration in February 2012 after it came to light that they were five months behind with payments to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

With no consortium prepared to settle those debts by a Company Voluntary Agreement the club was placed in liquidation, joining Third Lanark, Gretna and Airdrieonians in the football graveyard in June 2012.
