Sepp BlatterFIFA’s ethics committee are set to recommend the 90 day suspension of Sepp Blatter with a similar fate facing Michel Platini.

The development highlights the groundswell of opposition to the FIFA chief who was overwhelmingly given a fifth term by member countries in May of this year.

With various court action going on into allegations of corruption FIFA are in danger of imploding with leading sponsors last week calling for Blatter to step down.

Tonight it emerged that before the end of the week Blatter and Platini are likely to be served with suspensions. Platini had emerged as a likely successor to lead FIFA into a new era but news of a payment received from FIFA in 2011 has cast a shadow over the Frenchman’s prospects.

What we know is that president Blatter was told he could be suspended for 90 days,” Klaus Stohlker, a Zurich based PR man with sources within FIFA, said. “The ethics committee has not taken any key decisions, they are waiting for further investigations. There is no guilt impugned.

They put the ball to Mr (Michael, Swiss attorney) Lauber in Switzerland. He is now in position for further investigation. At least president Blatter has not flown away from his throne but is still in power. It’s a very difficult situation. It’s not good for global football.”

With Platini tainted by association with Blatter it looks likely that it will be a non-European that takes control of FIFA which is likely to lead to more tension with UEFA.

Plans to run the 2022 during November and December are likely to galvanise European opposition to FIFA with the bigger clubs unhappy about the growing influence of international competition.

FIFA and UEFA are two of the most corrupt, illegal and self important organisations to walk this earth.

The Bosman Ruling – The Messi Ruling – Andy Webster – These decisions were all contested vigorously by FIFA/UEFA and yet they rightly lost them all.

Now its FFP… In other words they are trying to tell a business how much money it can spend and how it must earn it to spend it…..completely illegal of course and relies again on the cooperation of the clubs not to take them to court.

Transfer Windows….Telling a business when it can buy stock? Totally illegal and needs the help of the clubs to comply and turn a blind eye.

Transfer Bans…Telling a business that it is not allowed to buy stock for a set amount of time and that ban can be anything up to 2 years….Totally illegal again

As for fining players…who gave FIFA and UEFA the power to fine a player? It is very unusual that you get fined by your place of work, infact its illegal as only a court or an act passed by parliament allows you to be fined in law. Has any such act been passed in a UK parliament allowing employers to fine employees? Only France i believe has passed this in parliament for football and has it written into it’s law.

Fifa and Uefa organise are party organisers, they have a couple of tourneys, but i’m positive the clubs could hire someone else to do that or sort the competitions between themselves.

And is it not wonderful that the huns nonsense of being the same club are hugely tied in with the utterings of these paragons of virtue and honesty..

Regarding potential Blatter replacements, my favorite quote from the Bosnian War comes to mind: “The only choice I have to vote for is the seven bastards that did this to me in the first place.”
