Celtic v UMF Stjarnan - UEFA Champions League Second Qualifying Round First LegScott Allan returns to action tonight as Celtic take on Hearts in the Development League at Dumbarton, kick off 7pm.

The midfielder hasn’t played since being injured in the 2-0 win over Dundee on September 8 but is now back to full fitness and ready to prove himself to Ronny Deila.

Allan has made just two top team appearances since moving from Hibs but made a big impact in the Development League match against Dundee where he was joined by Nadir Ciftci and Anthony Stokes.

Coach Tommy McIntyre will be relying on youth for tonight’s match with the first team squad all working towards Wednesday’s League Cup tie at Tynecastle.

Celtic have made an impressive start to the Development League with six wins and a draw- away to Hamilton- from their opening fixtures.

In their last Development League match on October 15 Celtic beat Kilmarnock 3-0 at Cappielow thanks to a double from Theo Archibald and an opener from Jack Breslin. In Hearts last match they lost 1-0 at home to St Johnstone with the Edinburgh side sitting in fourth bottom place with eight points from seven matches.

Next week Celtic’s u-19 side will be in UEFA Youth League action in Hungary when they take on the Puskas Academy for a place in the last 16 of the competition. The match will be played at the Pancho Stadium with a 4pm kick off, the return leg will be played at Livingston on November 25.

Earlier this afternoon there was for disappointment for Scotland’s u-17 side when they were eliminated from the European Championships after drawing 1-1 with Italy with Celtic’s Wallace Duffy scoring the Scotland goal. Aidan McAdams, Shaun Bowers and Jack Aitchison started the match with Broque Watson appearing as a late substitute. Scotland tied with Bulgaria on four points but lost out on the head-to-head.
