NEYMAR MESSI2Barcelona completed 2015 in style with a 4-0 win over Real Betis to sign off a year that brought the Catalan club five major titles.

Coach Luis Enrique led his side to success in La Liga, the Champions League and World Club Cup but barely paused to reflect on those achievements as he looked forward to the challenges of 2016.

The South American trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez have combined to put an incredible cutting edge to the flowing football that has mesmerised opponents over the last five years.

In his 500th Barca appearance Messi took his goal tally to 425, along the way the Celtic mad Argentinian has collected 7 La Liga championships, 4 Champions Leagues, 3 Copas del Rey, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 6 Spanish Super Cups, and 3 FIFA Club World Cups.

Enrique has taken on the challenge left by Pep Guardiola but is intent on more glory rather than look back on the trophy haul of the last 12 months.

I don’t dwell on memories and 2015 is in the past,” he said after the win over Betis. “Now I’m interested in 2016 and being the best again. That’s what professionals do.

As far as intensity, we continued as we have done throughout the year, which is the best message we can send the fans heading into 2016. This has been a very good year, I’d give it nine out of 10 but everything can be improved.”

While Enrique attempts to play things down the marketing arm of the club is in full flight as they cash in on the success on the park with three of the most marketable faces in the universe.

According to the club’s You Tube channel: “It was another historic year for FC Barcelona as the club conquered Europe and then the world, ending 2015 with five titles. With the new year on the horizon, we look back at the best moments from the last 365 days, including the treble, Xavi’s farewell, the arrivals of Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan as well as the most important goals en route to glory.”
