Carlton Cole, Scott Allan, Gary Mackay-Steven, Tyler Blackett and Logan Bailly are all in the Celtic side to face Falkirk in the Development League tonight.

With no midweek fixtures Ronny Deila has taken the opportunity to give as many first team squad men some game time.

Cole and Mackay-Steven are playing their first game of the season in the Development League while the other trio have been in action before.

Tommy McIntyre’s side have dropped only two points so far in the Development League but other commitments have left them with a fixture backlog with the hoops having played seven matches less than third placed St Mirren.

Hamilton Accies are six points ahead of Celtic having played five more matches with a win for Celtic tonight and away to Dunfermline on Friday putting the hoops back in contention at the top of the table.

As well as the Develoipment League Celtic have also been involved in the SFA Youth Cup, Premier League International Cup and UEFA Youth League.

On Monday Celtic were drawn against Valencia in the UEFA Youth League with the match to be played at Livingston or Celtic Park on February 9 or 10.

Should Celtic beat the Spanish outfit they will then be drawn against one of the Champions League group winners for a place in the last eight of the competition.

Friday’s match against Dunfermline will be staged at Ainslie Park Edinburgh with a 1pm kick off.
