Ronny Deila watched Celtic beat Hamilton Accies 8-1 then claimed that they could have scored more!

Celtic were three in front after just ten minutes with Leigh Griffiths completing his hat-trick in the 54th minute when the hoops went 7-0 up.

Northern Ireland keeper Michael McGovern pulled off half a dozen great saves to keep the score in single figures with Deila delighted by the way his players performed.

We started the game really well, it could have been much more than eight, I’m really pleased with the boys tonight,” the Celtic boss said.

The whole team played well, they linked well together, played with a lot of tempo. Everything came together, we were very sharp.”

Mikael Lustig opened the scoring in the eighth minute with Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic finding the net within a minute of each other to put Celtic in the driving seat.

After his recent scoring exploits Leigh Griffiths announced his arrival in the 22nd minute with a low driven shot then completed the first half scoring in the 34th minute with a tap in from a Lustig pass.

Substitute James Forrest drilled in a great low drive in the 53rd minute with Griffiths racing onto a loose ball before lobbing the ball over McGovern to complete his hat trick.

Carlton Cole replaced the goal hero in the 65th minute but it was Accies sub Eamonn Brophy that brought up a familiar scoreline in the 73st minute when he pulled a goal back and celebrated wildly.

It looked like there would be no further scoring but in the 89th minute Callum McGregor pinged in a low 25 yard to cap a memorable night.

Well done RD and the bhoys, let’s hope we can put a winning run of games together, and stretch away to 5 in a row.
