Tom Rogic has described Celtic as a fantastic club with a buzz after celebrating his new contract with a double in the 5-0 win over Motherwell.

The Steelmen had no answer to Celtic’s pace and finishing power with Rogic scoring the first and last goals of the night as the hoops booked a home tie with Alloa in the last eight of the Betfred Cup.

“I’m happy and settled here,” the midfielder said. “This is a fantastic club with a real buzz about the place at the moment, everyone wants to be a part of it.

Rogic opened the scoring in the 20th minute with an acrobatic strike from 15 yards out with Moussa Dembele doubling the lead 14 minutes later from the penalty spot.

Goals from Scott Sinclair and another from Dembele early in the second half put the issue beyond doubt with Rogic netting from close range in the 76th minute to complete the scoring.

After signing his contract of Tuesday the Australian highlighted the influence of Rodgers on his decision with the change in management having a positive effect throughout the club.

The whole environment is positive,” Rogic added. “Working with him, I, along with the other players in the team, feel he can get the best out of us.

It’s enjoyable to be working with him and I’m looking forward to working under him in the future.”

Celtic finished the match with six players that have come through the club Aademy structure with substitutes Jamie McCart, Anthony Ralston and Liam Henderson joining Eoghan O’Connell, Callum McGregor and James Forrest from the starting XI.
