Kolo Toure misses out on tonight’s Betfred Cup tie against Motherwell with Saidy Janko coming into the Celtic defence.

The former Liverpool defender picked up a thigh strain in the closing stages of Sunday’s win over Hearts and has been left out of tonight’s clash with Mikael Lustig moving into central defence to partner Eoghan O’Connell.

Tom Rogic and James Forrest are both in the starting XI after signing new contracts in the last 24 hours.

nticipating tonight’s match John Kennedy said: “We’ll approach this game with the same mentality we’ve had in every game so far, and hopefully we can get a good result.

The mentality of the boys is getting stronger and stronger and the last two games have shown that. Towards the end of the game we’re still motoring strong and we’re getting goals, and that’s the trademark of a good team

At this stage, you win one game and you’re in the quarter-final, and hopefully we could have a trophy in the bag pre-Christmas. It starts now. The European stuff will take care of itself, but most important for us is Motherwell and making sure we do our business.”

Kennedy added: “The way we approach the season is that we want to go and attack every competition, we want to do our best and try to win every competition and this is the first one that comes about in the season.

So we’ll put the strongest team out that we can and we’ll certainly be going out to win the game. It’s as simple as that.

We’ve got a good squad and we’ve got plenty of boys itching to get involved and there will be one or two opportunities to come into the team and it’s up to them to take that.”
