Craig Gordon has laughed off claims that Celtic have no chance of taking anything from Borussia Monchengladbach tomorrow night.
The hoops travel to Germany with the sobering memories of a 2-0 home defeat from the Germans still fresh.
After drawing 3-3 with Manchester City hopes were high that Celtic could take something from the home match against Gladbach but the hoops were handed out a lesson by their guests.
Both Gladbach goals came from self inflicted errors, from Kolo Toure, but throughout the 90 minutes the Bundesliga side were superior to Celtic in almost every area.
With the backing of a capacity crowd believing that their side can snatch second spot to Barcelona in Group C Gladbach will be formidable opponents for a team with a ‘difficult’ away record in Europe.
Gordon has performed well against Man City and Gladback despite losing five goals and believes that there is still life left in Celtic’s Champions League campaign.
“What we have learned?” he asked. “We’ll see. I don’t want to say too much.
“In the debrief after the game, we watched bits of it back and the manager has pointed out areas we need to improve upon for this time around and we’ll be looking at that again now.
“We are certainly going to go into the game as underdogs and nobody will be expecting anything from us, but, within our group of players, we know what we are capable of.
“And if we can get everything right on the right as we did against Manchester City, we believe we can be a match for anyone.
“Do we believe? Of course we do. We believe we can do it in every game if we get enough of our players playing at the top of their game.
‘If we do that, we’ll match sides, although it’s easier said than done. You can’t do it in every single game, but we’ll certainly be looking to raise ourselves for it.”
