Brendan Rodgers must brace his side for a mammoth nine matches in four weeks schedule through December.

Earlier today the SPFL announced the that hoops will face Hamilton and Partick Thistle in rescheduled matches in successive midweeks.

With Hamilton and Partick already scheduled in for matches during December it means that Rodgers side will face both teams home and away between the 9th and 24th of the month!

Due to a number of reasons attendances tend to dip in December with three home midweek fixtures sure to test the resources of the Celtic support with most of those games a write off for the thousands of season ticket holders based in Ireland.

At the end of the month Celtic travel to Ibrox in a game that is likely to test the fitness and resolve of Rodgers side to the full.

On Saturday after the international break Celtic get back to domestic business with a home match against Motherwell.

Earlier in the season Rodgers’ side enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over the Fir Park side in the BetFred Cup.

Despite that set-back Motherwell are sitting in sixth place after eight matches although they are three points adrift of fifth placed Sevco.

In their last match before the international break Motherwell lost 3-1 at home to Hearts with assistant manager James McFadden scoring an injury time consolation.
