Daniele Orsato of Italy will referee Celtic’s Champions League tie with Barcelona on Wednesday night.

The 40-year-old has already refereed two group stage matches in this season’s Champions League as well as Manchester City’s 5-0 play-off win away to Steaua Bucharest.

With Barcelona losing on matchday four away to Manchester City the Catalans need a win over Celtic to qualify for the next phase with Luis Enrique’s side looking to secure top spot.

Barcelona arrive in Glasgow tomorrow on the back of a 0-0 draw at home to Malaga at the weekend with their free scoring form appearing to desert them.

In their last four matches, including the defeat from Manchester City Barcelona have only scored four goals.

Saturday’s goal-less home draw saw Barca playing without Messi who was suffering from flu but who returned to training today and is expected to be in the squad to fly to Glasgow.

In 2012 Barca lost 2-1 to Celtic in the Champions League but gained revenge the following season with a 1-0 win before winning 6-1 in the Nou Camp followed by a 7-0 home win at the start of the current campaign.
