Erik Sviatchenko was rightly proud of his stunning goal against St Johnstone.

Whether it was from 30 or 35 yards out is open to debate but the only fact that matters is that it found the back of Scott Fox’s net.

After 38 minutes of toil and near misses it looked like the hoops could be going in at half time on level terms.

As he took the ball into the Ross County half space seemed to open up encouraging the defender to push forward and take a shot.

His low right footer was perfectly executed as was his celebration!

Six minutes later Stuart Armstrong doubled Celtic’s lead which coupled with the draw between St Johnstone and Sevco means that the gap at the top of the table.

On Saturday Sviatchenko will probably settle for a clean sheet at Ibrox but if the chance comes up to pop one in from 35 yards the Dane won’t be shy about taking a shot.
