Erik Sviatchenko has saluted the South American skills of team-mate Mikael Lustig.

Overnight on twitter fans were amazed to run through Celtic’s fifth goal at St Johnstone which featured not one but two back-heals/Rabona’s from the Celtic full-back.

On Sky Sports after the match Brendan Rodgers spoke about his players needed to be unpredictable within an aggressive, attacking framework.

Lustig certainly did that and is getting almost as much praise as Dembele who completed the move with the low shot for his hat-trick.

That move rounded off a great second half display from the hoops even if the incompetence of Craig Thomson created one of the main talking points.

His decision to award Celtic a penalty was wrong and the sign of a referee who reacts to circumstances rather than what he sees in front of him with his own eyes.

It was almost as big a mistake as his decision to disallow a ‘goal’ from Erik Sviatchenko against Sevco at Hampden in October where the tribute act got a free kick out of sympathy for the fall of elderly Clint Hill.

Celtic refused to be unsettled by that decision with Dembele scoring an 88th minute winner to book Celtic’s place in the final of the Betfred Cup.
