Chris Sutton put the ‘buckie on ice’ last night as he watched Aberdeen destroy Dundee 7-0.

A home win would have handed Celtic the title but that was never likely as the Dons stormed into a 4-0 half time lead.

It was a Celtic-like performances from Derek McInnes’ side as they kept the title race flickering until Sunday when Celtic face Hearts at Tynecastle.

Hoops fans cheered every time that Aberdeen found the net paving the way for their favourites to win the title on the park at Tynecastle.

Aberdeen’s win trimmed Celtic’s lead down to 22 points but a win at Tynecastle would put the hoops 25 ahead with 24 points left to play for.

The Dons have the consolation of being strong favourites for second place with an 11 point lead and being 27 goals better off than Pedro Caixinha’s side although the best squad in Scotland does have a game in hand with the two companies meeting at Pittodrie next Sunday.
