The club that replaced Barry Smith with Neil McCann are set to appoint Neil McCann as manager.

After spending the season hoping that Brendan Rodgers would move to the English Premier League the Sky Sports pundit has done a Gary Neville and is about to take over as manager of Dundee.

The former Scotland winger started his career at Dens Park before moving onto Hearts then Rangers (IL) where he collected a lucrative £1.7m EBT which was discussed in length recently in the Supreme Court appeal.

Dundee axed Paul Hartley yesterday and have wasted little time in bringing in his replacement with McCann set to be named as manager tonight.

The appointment will be until the end of the season with the former Rangers (IL) man starting out in the dug out away to Motherwell on April 29 with Dundee currently sitting in second bottom place, two points adrift of Motherwell and Hamilton Accies.

Dundee finish their campaign away to Hamilton Accies on May 20.
